Apologies if this has already been discussed in a thread but couldn't see anything about it.
Evidently BBB is going to be some tool judged on his bumper form (Beat Moon Racer & Death Duty) but just wondered where people think he will go? For me it has to be the Neptune.
With Elliott winning the Navan Hurdle with Death Duty, a race he has run No More Heroes & Don Cossack in before and the race also also throwing up Briar Hill & Bellshill, a subsequent Albert Bartlett fave and grade 1 3m hurdle winner within recent years, surely Death Duty is being aimed at the AB.
There is no chance that Blow by Blow will rock up in the same race as Death Duty. Surely? So assume they will be kept apart. Being out of Robin Des Champs and in Gigginstown ownership, he's nearly guaranteed to be a staying chaser in the making. With evident 2m speed and stamina in his pedigree, I'm failing to see how 25-1 for the Neptune isn't anything but value.
Does anyone know when, where or what the plan is for him in regards to the near future?

Regardless of his form from last season, you'd have to be concerned by his lack of a run this season and the fact he has not even been entered up from what I've seen. As he's definitely a chaser I'd be surprised if they rushed him for Cheltenham and instead go easy on him if he does return with a view to the bigger picture next season.

FWIW A couple of credible posters on twitter have tweeted that he isn't back in training yet.
I thought the post race interview with Gordon Elliot @ Navan on Sunday was interesting as he mentioned "other Gigginstown horses" when talking about a Cheltenham target for Death Duty. The only other potential top novice that comes to mind is BBB so maybe the outlook is positive for him. GL |

No idea what the stats are, but can't imagine too many have won a grade 1 novice hurdle at the festival when having their debut over hurdles after Christmas?

Gordon Elliott says Blow By Blow, last year's Champion Bumper winner @punchestownrace, will run in 5 weeks' time approx after minor setback.

Looks a stayer to me, but with Death Duty looking like the Giggi Albert Bartlett horse, I'd vote Neptune at this stage, but him and Death Duty could easily be swapped.

Don't shoot the messenger but this is from the Irish Racing website after BBB won in Fairyhouse...
After race at Fairyhouse Mon, 28th Mar, 2016 (1st) He's a fine big horse, a real chasing type. I suppose he'll go hurdling next year, Eddie (O'Leary) said three mile hurdling, but he's every inch a chaser - a real staying chaser. I'd say he'd want a good dig in the ground just by his size but he is by Robin Des Champs and they go on better. W P Mullins |

AFTER WINNING the MARTIN PIPE Conditional Jockeys Hcap hdl in March it’s hardly surprising to see Blow By Blow BBB shorten in the ante-post lists for Cheltenham after a more than solid start over fences in his Beginners Chase at Galway yesterday.
BBB has always had chaser written all over him and jockey Jack Kennedy (a first chase winner at Galway for young Jack) was impressed with what he got from the big seven-year-old. He did jump left at times but it was always assured from the graded bumper and hurdle performer and from the front he put thie extended two and three quarter miler to bed from the back of the last. BBB ended up with 17 lengths in hand. Irish Racing - On Gordon Elliott's charge Kennedy said: "He is a cut above them and he'd be better in a better race with something to take him on. "He jumped well and he knows what he is at and is very clever. Ideally you'd like if you had something upsides him and he couldn't have done much more there. I feel confident that this horse will run in the 4m National Hunt Chase at The Festival.
He loves a trip, is bred for one, and his trainers highlighted the 4-miler in his ATR stable tour. |
