Vautour has died after a freak accident at Willie Mullins' yard. "He broke a foreleg and has had to be put down," reported the trainer.

This is heartbreaking. Having only followed the sport for 4/5 years, Vautour was my first 4 legged love largely due to having seen his 3 festival wins all in person. Run free in equine heaven xxxx

Yeah, terrible news.  Such a shame connections ducked the Gold Cup last year when they had their chance.

I was really looking forward to him taking on Coneygree and Cue Card in the King George - will be a much weaker festival without him, that's for sure.

Cant believe it...what a joy to watch he was at Cheltenham. Thanks for the memories. Poor old Avant Tout as well - was at Punchestown to see him win earlier on in the year even with the welter burden of my money on his back. What a very sad/strange last 6 weeks or so for WPM. He'll bounce back......
