Appears to be Joseph's Plot horse for Triumph this year after last years success..

Anyone know if he is staying with Tabor/Smith etc or has JP splashed the cash?

Rated 103 on the flat and 20/1 for the Triumph Hurdle, another Ivana Gorbatov, a 97 rated horse on the flat?
Report Hubert October 18, 2016 3:44 PM BST
Yep.. Joseph seemed to talk him up as his juvenile hurdler for the season.. Has a lot of dodgy jumpers tho!
Report CustomCut October 18, 2016 3:55 PM BST
Agreed Hubert, it seems the majority of his jump terribly.

Impossible, IG was rated 103 on the flat and progressive. Landofhopeandglory is rated 102 and looks exposed and ungenuine.

Bhutan, Housesofparliament and Sword Fighter in the care of Joseph after being bought by JP McManus, all 25/1 for the Triumph.
Report impossible123 November 7, 2016 2:10 PM GMT
That was an ok debut to me but the bookies were more impressed; he is as short as 10/1 from 20/1 for the Triumph Hurdle - Jp McManus's money?
Report Hubert November 7, 2016 3:47 PM GMT
I was well impressed tbh... Thought he jumped very well when picking up the pace which is the doubt with these recruits

Housesofparliament and/or Bhutan could be better. Does anyone know where and when either would be out?
Report unclepuncle November 8, 2016 6:17 PM GMT
Hard to believe that Housesofparliament, just touched off in a St Leger (travelled best buy outstayed in the last furlong) is being sent hurdling.
Report impossible123 November 8, 2016 7:59 PM GMT
The participants of this year's Leger was a very mediocre lot with the exception of Idaho. Housesofparliament will just about manage to win a Gp3 race but nothing better, I believe; Housesofparliament could turn out to be the Galileo of National Hunt Racing on the breeding department.

Bhutan beat Housesofparliament in his only race and was entered for the Epsom and Irish Leger. And of the 4 horses bought by JP McManus that are in Joseph's care (the other trainers eg Jonjo, etc, must be green with envy) the former has the best credential and potential as a juvenile.

He has been gelded!

Really, I did not realise he had. I knew about Landofhopeandglory, what about Bhutan and Sword Fighter? They had not had the same procedure, had they?

JOB is quick to send him out again tomorrow at 12pm Punchestown - a price contraction or a wild walk post?
Report impossible123 November 19, 2016 1:14 PM GMT
An improved display and the further he went the better he became; he won cosily despite the 2nd and stablemate was backed in the race. The $64k question is is he good enough to win the Triumph Hurdle or is there something 'special' not seen out yet from the same stable eg Housesofparliament, Bhutan or Sword Fighter?
Report Can't Catch Me November 22, 2016 11:59 AM GMT
I personally think they will have one better and that their number one Triumph Hurdle horse will be kept for later in the season.
Report ReaseHeath November 22, 2016 1:03 PM GMT
purely on the basis of his attitude on the flat, I can see Sword Figher adapting to hurdles. Just a hunch though.
Report impossible123 November 22, 2016 3:35 PM GMT
No doubt Sword Fighter has the potential and constitution to be a decent hurdler, and he also stays 2m easily which makes me wonder whether he could be aimed at the Neptune instead. I believe Housesofparliament will be out nearer x'mas time; Bhutan, the winner over Housesofparliament on his only outing last season on the flat is the dark horse of all the recruits to sticks.

Will JOB have a runner over fences this season? Maybe not, but when he does he could be a force to be reckoned with in the future given his connections and ability.
Report Can't Catch Me November 22, 2016 4:10 PM GMT
He had a runner over fences today. It fell. I backed it Sad
Report impossible123 November 22, 2016 4:17 PM GMT
CCM, oh no! It can only get better I guess.
Report Hubert November 23, 2016 10:30 AM GMT
He's never seem to jump the best.. Even tho ppl question Landofhopeandglory in that dept he is prob as good a jumper of a hurdle a joseph has!
Report impossible123 November 29, 2016 11:18 PM GMT
He's running in the Bar One Juvenile Hurdle at Fairyhouse this weekend against Mega Fortune (MF); he is 5/4 and MF is only 13/8 but trading at 29 here.

I liked today's performance giving a beating and 4lbs to Mullins/RR Triumph Hurdle hope. All we want now is for Housesofparliament to make his hurdling debut.
Report Can't Catch Me December 4, 2016 9:26 PM GMT
He may have beaten the Mullins horse, but that was his seasonal debut, and he's only ever had two races before in his life. I'd personally fancy him to reverse placings come March and took the 25-1 that was still available immediately post race.

The Mullins horse also did it the hard way making the running the whole way.

CCM

You are quick!

I only managed 20/1, 16/1 and 18.5 (here) solely on the value ie Landofhopeandglory is now 7/1 in general and the 2nd is Mullins/RR main Triumph Hurdle hope (I believe). I'm also loaded on Housesofparliament too, a lucky horse for me in the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket. But Landofhopeandglory could be the real deal come March, and he goes on any ground.
Report Can't Catch Me December 4, 2016 9:55 PM GMT
I'm convinced Joseph has one better...  no idea which one it is though.
Report Paterson92 December 4, 2016 10:14 PM GMT
Mullins/Ricci have another couple still to unleash so I'm told ...

Francin - won by 5 and a half lengths on debut in France over 12f in June (was giving 4lb to all 6 rivals that day).

Catwells - won by 5 lengths on debut in France over 2m1f in April.

Long way to go between now and March gentleman, hold your fire ....
Report Paterson92 December 4, 2016 10:18 PM GMT
Both of the above can be backed at 20/1 out of interest ^
Report impossible123 March 16, 2017 8:36 PM GMT
He's been backed today, for value perhaps.
Report the bloob March 16, 2017 9:23 PM GMT
I backed this one a couple of weeks ago, in anticipation of the ground drying out, looks like we're getting that now and the money has arrived

same thing as last year for I. Gorbatov
Report lewisham ranger March 16, 2017 9:59 PM GMT
charli parcs must be the most overhyped horse of all time.
Report impossible123 April 27, 2017 6:44 PM BST
Running on saturday at 16:25 Punchestown against three principal runners he's beaten before; 13/2 and on possibly the ground he revels in. I'm more than hopeful.
