you'd want to hear KV's connections come out and say something positive about his well being, I can't find anything - in racing no news often turns out to be bad news.
Surely Mullins would also want him to have a prep before the Hennessy - especially after what happened when Djakadam went there undercooked a couple of years back.

If so, my money is already lost for this race. How badly I missed the 'services' of No More Heroes and/or Don Cossack this season to help me show a profit already.

Apparently Willie Mullins on ATR today said Kilultagh Vic will be back in the 2nd half of the season.
Also read a bit back that this is the 60th and last Hennessy. Longest sponsorship ending.
Already got my tickets for the 2 days and can't wait.

And who would take it over and expect their name to be associated with it?
Racing folk are notoriously conservative and still refer to the Mackeson, Schweppes, bloody hell, even the Massey Ferguson.

That great sequence of handicap chases up to Christmas used to read:
Mackeson, Black and White Whisky, Hennessy, Benson and Hedges, Massey-Ferguson and SGB. Top class horses would usually run in them all. Fair enough, the game's changed, but those races had a fantastic aura.
We now have the Bet Victor, whatever the Ascot race is now called (it seemed to change its identity quite regularly and in that respect, nothing changes), Hennessy, Tingle Creek, December Gold Cup and the one that no-one ever knows who sponsors it at Ascot just before Christmas. But, of course, we have the Betfair chase in addition. Just as good a first half of the season as it ever was.

The Irish runners look the most iinteresting - Avant Tout @ 10/1 is a worthy fav but after the recent shenanigans I expect Gigginstown will be very keen to beat Mullibs and they have several possibles, which of course means it's hard to know which ones will run.
Outlander would be of particular interest but can't back it until running plans are more definite.

IS - Day 1 is actually next Thursday 3/11/16 and is called Festival Preview day. The idea is to advertise the 2 day meeting. The best races from the 3 day meeting are now rolled into 2 days to make them higher profile days than they already were. I think it's about increasing the attendance on the Friday as Saturday is well supported anyway.
I only go Friday/Saturday so it actually suits me. The running order is now on the Newbury Races website and it's a cracking 2 day card, just hope some of the graded races (Novice Chases) are well supported.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has indicated that Saphir du Rheu, third in Saturday’s Sodexho Gold Cup at Ascot, is likely to be seen next in the feature Group 3 Hennessy Gold Cup Chase at Newbury on November 26.
The seven-year-old made a highly satisfactory return to the fray at the weekend, staying on well to take third in the race won by Gary Moore’s Anthony.
Having rather lost his way last term, the gelded son of Al Namix could take now his chance at Newbury racing off an 11lb lower mark than last year, when he was sent off favourite for the coveted three-and-a-quarter mile chase but finished just out of the frame behind Alan King’s classy Smad Place.
“He will go straight for the Hennessy,” suggested Nicholls in the aftermath of the Andy Stewart-owned chaser’s seasonal return. “He had a right good blow.
“I thought he ran a good race in (the Hennessy) last year when he was fifth. He will be a bit lighter and stronger and we will have a go at it.”
“He was never right last year,” revealed the Ditcheat handler. “Nick Scholfield said to make more use of him and what we wanted to get him doing was jumping well. He can only build on that.”
