I would want more than 10/1. Aintree was a ridiculous performance and had she beaten IG in the Triumph and backed that up Aintree then I wouldn't have any doubts over Cheltenham and the hill. That being said, at 4 we won't have seen the best of her yet.

IG was greatly inconvenienced by the ground at Aintree, and I agree 10/1 is too short for Apple's Jade in the Champion Hurdle. But who will train her this season now that Gigginstown have removed all their horses from Willie Mullins? Nichols or Elliot?

Has to be a negative for Apples Jade backers surely.
Giggi will have decided her route, not Mullins, so she wouldn't have been shuffled about like Ricci's or Wylie's, so in all likelihood will have been Champion Hurdle under Mullins, yet now she is going to a lesser trainer.
That is not me for one minute saying Gordon Elliot is a poor trainer at all, but Mullins is the king of getting 2m hurdlers to their peak in March, so wherever she goes, imo, will lessen her chances of winning.
On the other hand, I think Don Poli going to Elliot will improve him, as I think he is better at training staying chasers, so swings and roundabouts imo

I have to say I think 10/1 is about right and had an EW bet as can't see much that will actually turn up that has a realistic chance. Many good novices from last year going chasing etc and apart from Ricci's 2 (Faugheen & AnnieP) only 1 likely to run. I can't see any other challengers, maybe the 2 IG's.
2 doubts about AJ are 5 year olds record and whether she needs proper soft ground to be at her best. Still 10/1 is fair IMO.

The good ground and 1st time out against a much fitter horse did not help I guess - she is much better over softish ground. Nonetheless, still disappointing for a 'supposedly' serious Champion Hurdle contender.

Apple's Jade emulated another great mare, Solerina, by winning a third Grade One Hatton's Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse in spectacular fashion
Jack Kennedy soon had Apple's Jade (4/6) on pace-setter Wicklow Brave's tail, and she took over from three out. It was quickly a matter of how far and the now eight time Grade One winner pinged the last two on her way to a twenty length demolition of Supasundae.
"She's unreal - to be riding a horse like this is a dream come through for me - I'd say for anyone to get on a horse like this would be great," said Kennedy. "She's so versatile - you can ride her anywhere - you don't have to make the running on her. It was a brilliant performance. "She was very relaxed but Patrick (Mullins on Wicklow Brave) was trying to steady up the pace a little bit which wouldn't have suited me. When I got up near him then she kind of latched on to the bridle a little bit. "She's so straight-forward and it's a pleasure to be riding her." For the OLBG Mares Hurdle Apple's Jade is 2/1 favourite from 3/1 joint market-leader with Paddy Power. “You are always nervous when you’ve got something like her running, and when she went down and jumped the last it was a big relief," said Elliott. “Horses like her are what the public want to see and I’m lucky enough to be training her. “Jack said he knew half way down the back there was plenty there. She loves a fight and is something else. “I‘d say she will follow a similar campaign to last year.”
