Just a side note, I'm getting sick to see highest rated JUMPS horse, especially as I have a bias towards Faugheen but I'm also a huge fan of the Don. But Hurdling and Chasing are two different disciplines and ratings differ very much. Its not like you have an 150 hurdler turn into an 150 chaser, over fences ratings tend to go higher with 10-14 pounds for horses who take to the discipline. Chasers use a totally different muscles mass to perform, while hurdlers tend to be much faster and finishing distances overall are compressed. Over fences they are amplified, thus ratings get higher over that code. I know that in flat racing the difference in sprinters and middle-distance, etc is also of significance but still the Hurdling and Chasing are two separate disciplines almost as different as flat racing, but you don't see anyone making a highest rated RACING horse list, its flat, hurdles and chasing ratings. Why mix the Jumps disciplines? Its so displeasing to read newspapers comparing Don and Faugheen as if they're in any way comparable. Then having reputable ratings organizations doing it, becomes even more atrocious..
