Sorry for all of the messing about, for those of you who read my previous efforts. I had some serious spreadsheet issues, which are now rectified.
THIS is the complete and definitive corrected result of the competition thread. Thanks to all of those who pointed my previous ineptitude out.
With apologies to all who read the final few posts I put onto the entries and notes thread I had a spreadsheet misunderstanding. The results shown was incorrect.
THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE RESULT!!! (I hope)
The final scores and results of each section
Section A: Letter T's Day 1... 1 which was worth 3 points, 1 point for saying 0 or 2. Section B: Aggregate of SPs for DAY 2 winners: 50.5. 2 points for going for C. Section C: 2nd in the world hurdle. Alpha des Obeaux - which gained 3 points for supporters, 1 point for any non runners. These were already sorted. Then we come to day 4 and the final round-up.....
Section D: Which of these 5 horses will achieve the best finish in Friday’s Gold Cup? Choose from: Road to Riches, Valseur Lido, Carlingford Lough, Many Clouds, Holywell...... WELL, thanks to the vagaries of declarations and the careful planning of how 'they' place horses in races, only Carlingford Lough actually ran, so, it's 3 points for Carlingford, 1/2 a point for the others
Section E: How many favourites (inc jt and co) will win at the festival? 10 won and it could well have been more but some of the winners became 2nd favs by the off times. 3 points for 10, 1.5 points for 9 or 11.
Section F: will any horse make the frame in 2 races at the festival This seems to be less common in recent times. 1 point for saying NO.
Section G: Winning rides for; de Boinville, Twiston-Davies, Johnson, Townend. 1 more on day 4 gives a total of 5 between them. 3 points for predicting 5, 1 point for 4 or 6.
Section H: winners for trainers; Nicholls, Henderson, Elliot, King. There were 5 before day 4 (as was correctly pointed out, I missed Mr Elliot's Cause of causes winning the last race on Thursday. 3 more on the final day gives us a total of 8... 3 points for that, 1 point for 7 or 9.
Section I: Which of these races: Novices Handicap chase (Tues), Coral Cup (Weds), Pertemps Final Hurdle(Thurs) and Conditional Jockeys Hurdle (Fri), will provide the Shortest priced winner? 12/1 twice and 14/1 twice. 1 point each for Novices and Coral, unlucky the other 2 Section J: The biggest price winner of the festival looked like being 16/1(A) right up to the very last race which had a 28/1 winner so B was the winner for 2 points.
Section K: A Lady rider winning a race{/b] Yep. Nina Carberry flew the flag. 2 points for a yes.
Section L: [b]Scoring 3 for a win, 2 for 2nd, 1 for finishing 3rd; how many will these horses score in total: Douvan (Arkle Trophy – Tues), Vroum Vroum Mag (Mares Hurdle - Tues), Yanworth (Neptune nov Hurdle – Weds) Un De Sceaux (Champion Chase - Weds), Thistlecrack (World Hurdle - Thurs), Limini (Mares novices Hurdle – Thurs), On The Fringe (Foxhunters – Fri)..... 5 winners and 2 second places (sort of sums the meeting up) means a score of 19 which gets 4 points, 18 or 20 gets 2 points, 17 or 21 1 point.
