Now I'm depressed

like that every year. In the old days, used to have the imminent arrival of the club cricket season to look forward to. Far too ancient now for that. But the alternative would be worse - the racing equivalent of T20 where nobody would recall anything.

Certainly the fastest week of the year after really getting the vibes going from around November.
Still, im the same and feel empty for a while

Twas ever thus.

Personally, I love the whole racing year up until around Glorious Goodwood when it tails off for me. Lincoln, National, the build up to the first four classics is all great. After Epsom it falls flat a little, Ascot picks it up again, but then it eases off and I lose interest until a little 'blip of interest' for Goodwood.

Sometimes, horses come along that keep the interest alive. Nashwan, Generous, Dayjur, Sea The Stars, Frankel and sometimes even jockey exploits like Dettori's magnificent 7 and Lester Piggotts return.  I've even loved The Breeders Cup from time to time!

The Hennessey ignites some interest in jump racing, but falls flat again until the King George. After Christmas I start preparing for Cheltenham.

One thing is for sure.  People who don't know the sport, think we're all a bit nuts!

Can't be bothered with flats much these days. Yer king, queens, tycoons and brown nose mafia can't be seen to be communicating with paupers or general riff raff. Obviously if they gave us the occasional heads up we'd climb up their balconys and sneak into their bedroom at 2am just to ask for a few tips and a chunk of cheese and some bread for our families.

Always hard at this time, at least Aintree appears sooner than normal and the Punchestown festival is getting bigger and bigger every year. Then the Galway festival followed by Market Rasen and then it will be the Persian War before we know it. And Blaklion won the Persian War a while back.

Just been checking hotel prices for the November meeting

Opposite here, thank feck it's over!! Had an amazing week, met some new people, got some memories that will live forever and I'm in front a decent amount but my body is crying out for help!! It's some town during festival, what an atmosphere.

Glad it's over. Couldn't take another day of punishment. Started off bad and got worse finally being summed up by 3 fallers on the last day.

According to the Bookies, with 10/28 favourites wining, you should be quids up !

What an unbelievable week! Some great performances the highlights being vautour, Annie power and limini! Also wonderful training performances from pat kelly and Nicky Henderson

It's like the end of the world,not long to Aintree though !

A very heavy week for me.  Big bets, big beers, burning the candle at both ends.   Loved it but as others said, ready for normality now.   Going to Aintree (which I love) and after that I will not be having a horse race bet until return of jumps in October.  Golf on Saturday's instead of form study.

Just think of it this way only 51 weeks to go!  As Ibrahima pointed out Aintree only three weeks away and The Punchestown festival is pretty good nowadays.  I actually enjoy the Derby and Royal Ascot flat meetings and it is the long gap from Ascot to Champions day contend with.

Lincoln, Aintree, Scottish  National,Punchestown,Newmarket, Goodwood,York,, Royal Ascot ,Ayr etc etc......
