Good to see you on here Howdi, although for the legendary "Howdi's fact of the day" that's a pretty poor start (more of an opinion); I'll let you off though because it's your first post in a while.

When the Fly made his hurdling debut.....Faugheen was 5 days old.

For this year's fact of the day, I was hoping to see something like "a racehorse needs 35,000 calories per day" - now that's a fact!

Hows this fir a Fact: No horse done the Supreme / Arkle double for 50 years

Fact: Douvan ran 20 odds seconds slower than Vaniteux in his last race, but quicker than Faugheen did in the champion, in his supreme run, last year.

this day back in 1963 Arkle won the RSA at 4/9 after only 2 starts in chases. He began that season in 2 weak hurdle races which he won at 6/1 and 9/2 but he took his form to another level over the big obstacles becoming the legend we heard of.
