I think she's almost certain to run As long as vroum vroum mag stays fine.

If she runs i think she will drift to 5/1

Absolutely no chance in this world she will be any bigger than 5/2 on the day I'd she runs. Any bigger will be max bet £25

Just checked the markets, in my opinion.
People are chancing that she isn't supplemented tomorrow and laying 4.0.
Nobody has touched the 6/1 in the mares. That would be completely hoovered up all the way down and past evens.
World hurdle is 110.0 that would be hoovered down to max 6/1.
As much as I don't want her to run in the champion (from a betting and jockey perspective rather than the spectacle) looks certain to me

they'll most likely supplement her for Champion Hurdle and leave her in the Mares Hurdle and keep the suspense going until Sunday

wish i had 20k to chuck away like that. Lot of dough to keep up suspense!

agree, but think they'll want to keep the connections of others engaged in Mares Hurdle guessing as much as anything else

Little suprised so many are underestimating her. I  agree the price isn't up to scratch, but i couldn't write her off.

5/2 will look a huge price come 3.30 next Tuesday! Getting 7 lbs from inferior horses. So many negatives with the rest. Annie power has the speed for a champion hurdle great decision to supplement her. Doesn't say much for how they rate Nichols canyon chance

Pg25, same stable does not mean same owner don't you know?

Have you heard of Rich Ricci, think he probably wants a runner....
By:

When: 09 Mar 16 20:31
youve obviously missed my point, ruby will ride Annie power, sempre Medici has beaten identity thief but is 3 times the price and he doesn't fancy that so they want Annie power in because they think it's their best chance. Nichols canyon is the price he is because he beat faugheen when he was 15kilos over weight. Safe to say if Nichols canyon was pulling up trees at home Annie power would have stayed in the mares hurdle and vroum vroom mag in one of the handicaps, the Ryanair or world hurdle..
By:

Ah Ok, but I would have said Annie was always going to go for it following the injury, regardless of what NC doing.
By:

I agree she should have gone for the race, she should have gone for the race instead of the world hurdle 2 years ago but for the fly. I was only saying with rich Ricci already having a runner in sempre Medici, I'd be worried if I was a Nichols canyon backer that they would even consider supplementing her. For that and many other reasons I can't have nc. Yes it looks a weaker race without faugheen but you still have Annie power, my tent or yours, identity thief who they bought to be a chaser but has improved no end and how many runners has oleary had in the race? So that's a clue in itself I think

Wont be backing her, what has she beat over 2 miles?
By:

When: 09 Mar 16 20:58
I'm a nichols canyon backer and not worried one bit about any of this! As its a pretty well known fact that nichols ain't a good work horse and does all his best stuff on the track! Hence it's mostly 1ns in his form not to mention umpteen grade 1ns so I'm happy for the little tiger to roll up this Tuesday and do his stuff weather it's good enough I don't know but will be very surprised if he ain't there come the run in!

I just think he will get outpaced, I think he should be in the 3 miler. The only reason he beat identity thief was he stayed better on the ground. How many 2 mile stayers on the flat win a champion hurdle?? He's had 20+ races and how much improvement does he have in him that's just my thoughts. You're right about the battler and that's a big quality in a horse. He must be a good horse to beat faugheen but he's been running on terrible ground all winter so he might not be as fresh as some

I'm not digging at you regarding Nichols canyon because they all have doubts it's just of my opinion that Annie power is actually in the right race. She hasn't beaten anything because WIllie has had the fly and faugheen for this race in the last 2 years and they have had to run her in other races. You can't say she has looked a slow horse she has a burst of speed.

@blackballed1 in any other year people would be talking about NC as a monster, especially as his first year out of novice and with already a 6 G1s in the bag but nowadays people just have higher standards and they try to look old/smart and give lesson of how great the previous CHs were in comparison, when in actuality the large majority of them were won by horses similarly rated going into it which took major leaps once they faced better competition.

The form of the Fighting Fifth I still hold in high regard and many champions have come out of that race but with softer ground conditions after the 24mm rain last day, I feel that Identity Thief will not get his way and TN will reverse the placings with him. Ground is everything in horse racing and NC proved he was a beast on soft conditions so I expect him to give AP the most to do, followed by the hugely talented TN. If it dries out quickly then I expect IT to put forward his career best and overtake Annie after the last.

Don't worry guys I don't take anything personal lol but remember nichols was outstanding on better ground at Aintree when even mullins thought he might be over the top that day and his coat was gone but it was probably his best performance and the fastest ground he had raced on. All ifs and buts

Hoping for 'good' in the going description and guessing at a big performance from IT, indeed racing is all about the ground but also pace.

Last year's unsatisfactory affair was not what we need to see. Lets hope for a good gallop, a test at the distance that will see a worthy champion crowned.

its a shame that Annie hasn't had the chance to fill her full potential, not run in the race that suits the horse but run where it suits the stable politics.

I'm not sure what you mean bankit. Surely the Champion Hurdle is the best option for her to show her ability?

Exactly it is the best option to show her ability, 2 years too late!! The 2/1 champion hurdle favourite was running in the mares hurdle 4 weeks ago!!

Yes Bankit, the stable politics does affect some horses as to the right race or not. Annie Power is one of a number over the last few years. To be fair it can pay off,but often it don't,as in the case of the CH two years ago, when they had a fair few contenders, but chose to let Fly be the one,and they got beat easily.
Still running in the WH gave her her highest rating and she did nearly win.
Can she produce another good performance at a distance she has not ran at for some time?
Her owner says she's best at two and a half,he's right imo, so will be interesting to see how she does in the top 2m race.
Whatever our opinion, she is a fascinating runner and does add to the race.

I have backed NC and I am unconcerned about AP being supplemented.  Owners want horses in Championship races for the most part so it makes sense for Ricci to supplement what they think will be their best chance
As for Ruby - he will probably look at the other horses they own and think he wants to be on their better side so will chose AP regardless.
