The Fred Winter is the race Frodon should run in but the vibe from the Nicholls camp is that he'll take his chance in the Triumph.

I couldn't disagree more Cash. A mark of 143 has scuppered any chance this horse has in the Fred Winter imo. Would go off top weight in a race stacked with unexposed horses.

If the Nicholls camp think that Frodon is a Triumph horse then even a mark of 143 should have some juice in it and if he's top weight then they can always put Harry Cobden on board and use his claim to good effect (just as they intend doing with Irving in the County).
The horse they should've run in the Fred Winter is Tommy Silver but Nicholls couldn't get a third run into him. |

And I know the mark you need to even get in has gone up over the years, but I just don't see this as a race for horses near the top of the handicap myself.

Good points well made but Nicholls has got a good record in the race, has a very strong juvenile team this year and in an ideal world I'd like to see Frodon give it a go with Harry Cobden on board taking 7 lbs off his back rather than go for the Triumph where he'd be looking for a place finish at best.

I'd like to see Cobden on Diego du Charmil as Ive been backing him for a while! Frodon will have to be pretty good to give this fella 10lb if you believe the hype.
