For racing she is yes.

What she has achieved in less than a year is nothing more than extraordinary, but, there has been a heck of a lot of money ploughed into the little publicity stunt, stunt maybe a very unfair word to use as the coverage the press will give racing will be a huge and very welcome boost to the sport we all love!

On a betting note, i did take the 33s she wins and 10s she finishes in the first 3, but, i after today i am now inclined to believe that even though shes nailed onto be allowed to take part in the Foxhunters itself i do think i and everyone else who played at them prices or the 66s that was available last autumn or even the 6/4 that is available for her just to complete have done their doe.

The time to get on was today. I noticed she was 6/4-7/4 this morning and had the biggest bet i've ever had outside of the festival just cos i couldn't see her getting beat today, all she had to do was sit tight for 2.5 miles and she did it perfectly. She basically imo had to win today after falling off the last day. And given that all the other jockeys had had about no more than 10 races between them in experience themselves told me all i needed to know.

By the way, to all you quick to point out that was an after time, it wasn't, i posted in the VP thread this morning on the horse racing forum! Wink

6/4-7/4 is like stealing milk from a baby! This race has all the hallmarks of a planned coup imo, VP will never get an easier chance to ride round, was very unlucky last time, should she ride round she should win. With the amount of money and publicity surrounding this switching of saddles escapade there is no way betfair etc who have supported VP through this will allow the hierarchy to stop her from completing the project. Think of the publicity racing will get at Cheltenham on foxhunters day, it will be front page in a lot of newspapers.

Racing can't afford to slip up now surelyConfused

Would be 4/6 with a top amateur on board and look at the jocks on the others. Had one of my biggest bets on this outside of Chelters Crazy

I was absolutely delighted for her. She looked better than I thought she would as well.

She looked great today, if you watched the race without knowing who was riding you could have not know she is so early in her career.

That said, she has the perfect Partner in PDD, he is a splendid jumper

She has a lot of transferable skills and she's done remarkably well in such a short space of time to get into the winners enclosure. It's a nice story and I for one won't be criticising her. It's also a shot in the arm for the sport when it needs all the friends it can get.

A hero doesn't have to save lives, he just needs to bring joy to others and I bet you there are some that were thrilled seeing her getting the first victory, as was I.
