Were nearly there, wine chilling, beer in fridge and indecent food delicacies ordered, ive been itching with anticipation since october, and I have been doing my notes since then which usually brings me at least 10 winners.every year for the last 20 odd years, the gold cup I nearly always get, except last year just didnt see that on radar at all.
But just looking at the chelts speciality odds on betfair and trying to find value.....
Nicky is 3 to be top trainer without the king, but only 2.5 to have no winners at all !! work the maths people ! I think nicky has the nicholls curse of a few years ago, hes coming back but not until next year in my humble (heres egg on my nose) opinion, yes hes had winners, but still struggling a little.
Top trainers without the king ....I have had nicholls (smug mode) at 11s he is unusually booting in hurdle winners this year so watch for those, of the other trainers, I think tizzy will have at least 2 (I do like thistlecrack)and maybe handicappers so at 7s for any other trainer that appeals, with the added benefit of another trainer peaking perfectly at those odds.
Going- little value nearly always good to soft 1.42 but with the gulf stream not being right it could be soft/heavy but unlikely
Prestbury cup -although the champ will win a few, I think we have good strength in depth this year for the uk but value not good again.
Top jock - no contest if you have a large wallet- but not for me, one fall and its goodbye to dough (nice fella ruby- hope you dont fall !)
Top jock without ruby ? throw a dart ! but geraghty been tuning up for this
Top trainer-no contest although I dont think it will quite be like last year
How many winners for the king ? 1.5 for 5-9 winners covers it for me, no real value
Alan king winners ? in good form but maybe 1 or 2 ? no value
Irish trained winners ? as I think it will be near 50/50 irish and uk winners a small squirt at 7s for under 10 winners may hove into view
