Go on then.

The usual questions to start then:

Acca and / or Single?
Who picks the horse(s)?
Best races / days to pick

and most importantly.....

What is our overall objective?

Yes to win money (duh!) but if not then to move markets? Get a mention in some media somewhere (Tanya going carpet-chewing mental as news of a 'huge plunge on 'Soontobeglue' in the Grand Annual, which would be the fourth leg of a 100000000000000000000/1 accumulator for a bunch of sad acts, reprobates, dreamers and ne'er do wells from the @rse end of the Internet')?

What?

I'm in, as usual. Do we not normally do an e/w multi and a single?

Single probably best in a h/cap, multiple could be either really, maybe a combination of hcaps and graded races?

Probably won't find selections that all will agree on, so might be best if some folk volunteer to do a selection each?

Though I would say if anyone has something they like really strongly at a good price then just stick it on this thread for discussion maybe..

Idea: if possible, it should be a plunge at one firm, that firm being everyone's favourite slaphead. Everyone with mouse at the ready late evening, say 9.30pm or something, their night trader will be having a snooze and their systems are far too archaic to automatically chop a price. Get him squirming Grin

What is our overall objective?

Four big priced winners in a lucky 15 surely? I'd suggest hitting up Bet 3.65 with their £2m maximum payout limit Excited , they'd be ****g bricking it if we somehow did manage to get the first 3 in, but I expect that a lot of you won't be able to get on with them AngryTongue Out

Joist, I agree in theory, however the chances of me getting more than 30p e/w on with Baldy is minimal Cry . Realistically we're probably all going to be restricted from different bookies, so it's probs unfeasible for us to all hit the same one :( . As much as I love the thought of them **** bricks :)

Plenty of time to organise and name a panel but agreed we should have everything in place ready. Go all in....if you can get 60p on were in business Laugh

Go-all-in, a fair point. There could be a chance that most people would have either a Baldy or a Totesport account they can get on with perhaps? Use either of those, it all comes out of the same domehead's pocket Grin

I agree 100% with Joist - whether it's one firm or not, the goal should be to put the wind up a firm or two by placing bets at exactly the same time, and at the same prices. Seeing 50-100 bets from different customers on the same 20-1 poke over a five-minute time period would at the very least have traders wondering what is going on.

it should be treated as a bit of fun with a chance of a big win for a relatively smallish outlay that if it goes south then no harm done ,steak what you are comfortable with ............

Ah, the old plunge.  Count me in, but I want to part in picking the horse, as sorry, but I have a little confession for last year.  It was Marychain and myself who picked the main plunge horse; my message was:

A suggestion I have is Unanimite in the Fred Winter.

If you watch his race against Hargam, was travelling just as powerfully turning for home and only beaten about 6 lengths giving him 6lbs. Hargam is obviously one of the big fancies for the triumph now.

The winner of that race Golden Doyen ran Top Notch to 2 lengths, and Unanimite has an 11 lbs swing at the weights with him for a 6 length defeat.

Then Marychain replied to me:

Mate, what do you reckon to the chance of Irish Cavalier?

Generous Ransom is 8/1 favourite for the last race on the first day after winning the 2m4f Novice Chase at the Open Meet.

Curtis' Irish Cavalier was a fast-finishing 2 lengths 3rd, was giving 7lbs that day and is now 6lbs better off against that one for this race and is 20/1.

Needles to say (as Partridge says), we went with Unanamite, and the rest is history.  My advice is to keep me as far away as possible, and ask Marychain to pick the horse!  I can sleep easy now that I have come clean Laugh

Haha, I've been bottling it up for a year Laugh  Only consolation was knowing you'd backed him and won a few quid because I couldn't have been more gutted when he crossed the line in front knowing you'd put him up as your choice.

Don't worry about it mate, I actually thought your reasoning was much more convincing than mine. We'll land it this year...
