Cheltenham Festival

I've booked a hotel in Evesham for the festival this year and wondering if anyone has stayed there for the festival or any other Cheltenham meetings?
Is there many good pubs / Live music etc during festival week or is it one of the quieter areas?
Any recommendations for pubs etc would be appreciated. Cheers in advance.

Stayed there last year at the railway Inn. Wouldn't recommend the pub itself but the town was OK and quite busy for a small place.
