It is indeed a festering ****. Avoid at all costs lads. Ive lived in Cheltenham for 8 years and can count on one hand the times ive been to Gloucester.

I have stayed in Tewksbury, Bristol, Northleach & Gloucester during the festival, Gloucester was easily the most disappointing place i have ever stayed in, such a pretty town too.

been using it for the festival for 15 years now and never had a night out there so couldn't comment on nightlife, really handy for Cheltenham though. If your staying in Gloucester really no need to go back there for a drink, stay in Cheltenham get a taxi back, only takes about 15-20 mins. sometimes have a couple of pints when get off the train on the Monday afternoon and never had a problem, but yeah there are nicer places in the Cotswolds than Gloucester.

IS
"Disappointing" now that's the politest description I have ever heard of the place. You can tell when you get off the train you are in Glawster as the tumbleweed blows across the car park. |

That's not tumbleweed, it's landscape gardening. Gloucester is a sh!thole and no mistake. Good for watching the rugby but forget anything else.

i have only ever been to gloucester once it was the sunday night before the festival around 15 years ago would not go anywhere near the place even if it was free.
