Have had a few quid on this for an interest. Just don't see anything that looks very likely for him this year. He only managed a solitary winner last year, and it looks even harder for him this time around.

I think he'll get a winner to be honest, probably a handicap hurdler that we know little about.
Aux Ptits Soins had his first run in the UK at the festival last year, I know it was a few years ago, but Sanctuaire only had one run in the UK. Politologue is current fav (albiet at around 10-14/1) for the Coral Cup. Long shots, but I think Dodging Bullets would be the one to take advantage is UDS slips up (doubt it though). Not a bet I'd say I'd back or lay to be honest. |

He had two winners last year the above mentioned Coral Cup winner and Fred Winter winner Qualando.

I thinks it's a bad bet. His chances last year were only slightly better than this year and he still landed 3 winners. I wouldn't rule him out, could see him landing a handicap or even Aux Ptit Soins in the WH. Either way, I think you can make a much stronger case for backing a single horse at 5/2 than you can across dodging none of his runners winning.

I do think his previous record is largely irrelevant. Different crop of horses, and WPM has never been so dominant.
You only need to go through the betting to see how few runners he has with genuine chances. I agree that a handicap is probably his best bet, but we all know how hard they are to win. |

He will more than likely hit one winner , id say 5/2 is a bad price to be honest.
3 last year and a single winner in 14,13 and 12 so its going to be hard for him not to stumble on 1 at least. |

A) The best trainer in England B) A man that will have 40ish runners including one in 'nearly' ever race C) Somebody who has trained a winner at the last 13 festivals has got to be one of the worse bets in history. But all the best with it....   |

But robbo. That's missing some important points. Having a runner in almost every race counts for nothing when the vast majority seems to have little chance.
Anyway, I'm not putting it up as some kind of stand out value bet. I actually think it isn't a great price either. But I've had a few quid on for an interest as I think it will be a fun bet to be rolling on through the week.... And I don't think he will have a winner, which is the most important part  |

Then CCM its a good bet for you.
It might be all over after 1 race shocks do happen or it could keep your interest for the week. As i said in my first post good look with it. |

I think theres still a point to his winners in the last few seasons. He didnt LOOK like he had a winner in the stable for those years either but still found them.

Racing really needs an on song Nicholls, so I for one hope he gets lots of them. There isn't a better trainer of a chaser imo.

I can honestly say he is a good trainer but was really put off him with what he said after Silver Birchs GN win.

I think PFN lost considerable credibility with a lot of racing people - general public, punters, owners and his peers - over his handling of the Kauto Star retirement. Stepped way out of line and created an unnecessary drama. Owner wasn't much better but PFN over stepped his role considerably. I am sure with the benefit of hindsight he would have handled the situation differently. Decent trainer and I am sure a decent man but just got too emotionally involved. I agree with well chief racing is a better place with a thriving PFN yard. Lets hope he gets there ASAP.

I don't think he'd change anything he's too pig headed and way above his station. Earlier in the season when STD fell off that one of JPs?? at Southwell?? Sam took to twitter to apologise which was pretty big of him and honest enough to say he'd made a mistake, fair play to him but PFN said Sam no need to apologise to anyone!!!!

I agree. Yet again too emotionally involved. A man used to getting his own way and can't handle or manage his emotions, or as you say too egotistical and pig headed to believe he needs to. Either way he makes himself look a right plonker.
