For all those who missed the prices on WPM's good things - How about Ricci's other horse to nick a place at a massive price?

Just you and Matt chapman by the sounds of it.

I suppose we were bound to agree on something eventually. Genuinely think he's the value in the race and nowhere else to go with him. He'll be ridden to place if he runs and is improving rapidly.

If he wasn't trained by willie would you still fancy him?

I'd have thought he has the County Hurdle as an option?

Coral cup would be my opinion if he went handicap as he would need to improve off his mark and that's a possibility going up in trip, at 2 miles off his mark he's vulnerable to something thrown in at a light weight.

In either race it gives Willie a very good marker.  He'll know exactly what the top weight will be rated and can plot accordingly.

Would have thought a go at the CH looks very unlikely unless the race really looks like falling apart.

I see he's out of the Contenders hurdle so no chance he'll even line up in the CH

Really?

Seeing as Mullins has seven horses between 11-05 and 10-07, I'd imagine he's going to use him (11-12) as a marker horse for the Schweppes.  Expect similar at Cheltenham?

Richest handicap in Europe at Neswbury on saturday and Ruby stays at home to ride Sempre Medici at Gowran Park

Ruby knows how well in Blazer is. He only likes winning.

I'd like to know what prices were laid on Blazer for the Betfair hurdle before his win the other day, you'd think the people in the know would have been keen to get on then, knowing that the win the other day was a mere formality.

That's exactly what I couldn't understand? It's very unlike JP and I was pretty sure he was being saved for Cheltenham. Not as if he was backed off the boards last Saturday either, strange.

After his dismal runs over fences it just looks like hurdling was Plan B. I think they knew they had a decent horse but were still left wondering because of that. Would have been the perfect JP plot if money was down before Leopardstown.

I really hope Blazer hoses up cause i don't want him in the County, off a decent mark, against my Blue Hell.

Blue Hell has no chance, maelduin because I'm on as well! I hope Desoto County goes CC or MP as well. Do you know if Phil Smith has put Blue Hell up since Diamond Kings victory?

I'm not expecting anything from Blazer tomorrow, see my post on the antepost thread, i though would not be surprised at all if one or two of the other Mullins horses were to run very close indeed! I refer to Wicklow Brave last years county win. Backed off the boards for three very competitive handicap hurdles in England before bolting up in the County at big odds! hmm  something fishy!

Sorry STS if I've misunderstood you? But you think Blazer will emulate WB? If so the major difference will be for two of WB defeats he was dropped 5lb the third which he was left at the start didn't make as the County weights had already been framed and he could only incur a penalty. Blazer regardless of what he does tomorrow will be at least 7lb higher at Cheltenham because if runs terribly tomorrow imo Phil Smith will choose to disregard that?

Disagree strongly STS. You don't send a horse over the sea, a week after a race on atrocious ground, unless you firmly believe you will be very competitive. They could just as easily keep him for the County with the mark he has now. As far as Wicklow Brave, he is a hound and nearly refused to race a few times before Cheltenham.

STJ - just saw the 141 before DK last victory. The Irish handicapper did put him up an additional 1lb after that race i believe.

The form of Blue Hells race is top class and I forgot Henry Higgins winning the big handicap. I also think After Rain has a big one in him if he can settle, because last day he ran well considering how long he pulled for.

running horses that are unfit etc etc etc for handicaps etc etc etc, imo its cruelty to the horses but thats another argument im not getting into right now

Good point, I'm going to tell my Mrs that next time she tries to force me to hoover the sodding stairs...old cowMischief

STS do you work for a ferry company because you keep plugging themLaugh

I'd watch the two c words that could libellous. Handicapping is a game and if you play too fair you don't win when you want to.

Too highly rated. Run for a place in Champion Hurdle if he goes to the festival.
