i tend not to get so excited pre-Chelt as if one of the 8-folds doesn't land i'll get depressed
But yea Winter is coming and as part of the Night's Watch order its bound we'll get carried away with all the horses running in our accas!Pretty interesting that although at the start of season I thought the GC would finally re-become the main race in people's conscience, it seems the CH is still the centrepiece. Maybe if Vautour will stay in the GC it'll change things around.. |

Can someone post a daily update on how many days (and if you've got time, hours, minutes and even seconds)there are to the start of the Supreme?
Oh and if you can add that you feel like a kid the night before Christmas, that'd be just peachy |

Have to say it's reached fever pitch earlier than usual for me this year. Not sure why, but very, very excited already.

I am absolutely buzzing for the festival. Like a lot of people on here I am sure, it is the first week I book off each year and is the only week off I really care about. December, January and February are work myself to the bone months to save every penny, so come festival I have a solid bankroll plus the added knowledge from all those quiet nights in studying form!
I am more excited this year than I have been in previous years for a few reasons. For the past few years the Gold Cup has lacked hype and excitement, but this year I think we are in for a real treat (providing Vautour goes there and wins). The bookies were let of the hook with AP falling last year and I don't think they will get let off again. I have lots of Willie Mullins acca's at big prices with some fairly hefty returns so I am happy with those. Also, I have changed tact this year and settled in the 'to win any race' ante post market which will cancel the money I seem to burn on trainers and owners changing their minds each year. To top it all off, my folks have just moved to Presbury so I am a 10 minute walk from the course! |

Ideal Charlie! We're staying in Tewkesbury this year which is new.
While there was some chat on another thread about the uncompetitive nature of short-priced Mullins favs, there's something about a red-hot fav for the Supreme that really gets me excited. After all the build-up and anticipation, the atmosphere and feeling when the commentator lights the crowd up by saying how Douvan/Vautour/Cue Card/Dunguib are travelling as they turn in for home, is incredible. I'm looking forward to Min being the next. A perfect example of what I mean is the 2011 Supreme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nANps0jY2pI Just a superb call from Mark Johnson - "and Cue Card now, starts to make ground between rivals! Sprinter Sacre, taken on, by Cue Card!" Spine-tinglingly good with the roar of the crowd behind it. What a front 4 in that Supreme too. |

I can't wait for a Guinness in the pub next to the Station listening to the Irish one man band guy. Then walk up to Prestbury on a cold, crisp, sunny spring morning.
I feel like I need an advent calendar |
