Hopefully the Arkle.

Hobbs diddnt say in these exact words. But he indicated soft ground arkle, good ground jlt. A 5 length beating of doctor harper today. off the top of my head I think lami serge beat him by over 20 lengths, I don't dislike the horse but over hurdles he is on a simular line to jollyallan. And he was slaughtered by douvan, sizing john and lami serge.
Anyone whos backed ew at big prices for either race, if he turns up, one thing you can be sure of is a decent run for your money, id just expect him to find atleast one or 2 too good |

L'Ami Serge beat him 27 lengths but GLV was giving DH 10lbs whereas L'Ami Serge raced him off levels.
Either way, not circumstances where I'd pay much attention to the collateral because the Plumpton contest was little more than a schooling session - today was a bit more of a race and 5 lengths at the finish was as close as DH got. I like GLV - professional, willing and rarely underperforms - I hope they go for the JLT - be surprised if he did n't finish in the frame at least. |

By:
Yes I agree Rease. Looks the ideal type for the JLT and think he's a bit under rated.
|

Backed him for the Arkle at 25's ages ago, but I don't think he has the class over 2m to be honest. I think he'll be prone to clouting one or two when they go too fast for him.
I think he'll improve a lot for good ground, and going left handed, but I think he'd be a JLT one too. I can afford to lay off my stake, so I think I'll do that. |

Ye after the uttox run I was really concerned with the jumping but then much better at chelt. The way he pulls more out when a horse gets to him I like. It's just a shame wherever he goes he's gonna bump into a Mullins machine.

So when that nice Mr.Hobbs looks at the reformed JLT market and sees the favourite is a horse GLV has already beaten 7 lengths whilst conceding 9lbs he'll surely decide the JLT is the right race?
And, yep, I know the race was over 2 miles and BDM has improved out of sight since then. |
|
By:
Have to agree here, any 12/1 14/1 nrnb GLV giving Bristol whose 4/1 and poss needs soft a good beating giving weight is worth the bet. GL.

|
By:
Bdm and GLV were my first very small tentative fez bets for the arkle along with sprinter sacre when I bet him at 25s for the qmcc but when the vibes in the markets started to change I took the hint and put decent bets on both for jlt. Not the end of the world where they go, just prefer the jlt now especially with kill vic out now and have lami serge vaniteaux armad for the arkle anyway
|

By:
When searching for horses to beat Douvan he was on my short list but didn't mentioned him because I thought its common knowledge he's going JLT. With KV out, its even more certain he'll end up there.

Most recent piece I could find
http://www.skysports.com/racing/news/12040/10152924/garde-la-victoire-eyes-jlt-not-arkle-at-cheltenham-festival Whilst not exactly common knowledge they were clearly leaning towards the JLT - today's news will surely consolidate those thoughts. |

Will GLV be ok on the ground
|
|
By:
Ground fine. I think he'll win.
|

By:
Bristol De Mai is a mudlark, so is probably Outlander. Black Hercules is too slow. Zabana and L'Ami Serge to fill the places. The rest are not good enough.
|
|
By:
Hopeful today but I have to get back what I lost on him a/p for the Arkle though.

Didn't think it was such a bad fall. He landed over the fence then went down as did Outlander at the same time. Jumping was never convincing though which is disappointing. Hobbs has had a nightmare meeting so far.
|
|
By:
All reports I've read are that Campeador survived his fall. He certainly isn't listed as being in horsey heaven, on the website that I won't mention.

someone posted it to me on twitter going to be pretty pissed if there lying

Nothing on the Elliot website and the news section has been updated. Looks like the horse is ok thankfully.
