Has he went for artic fire? I like the horse but he has had enough chances in grade 1 races v the best and hasn't really got close to winning as of yet and don't see any reason why he can now! Think if he ran better over Xmas he would have been going world hurdle though I heard he had a bad scope after that day. They would aswell just keep him back for Liverpool and let him make up for last year when he cost me a bomb coming down at the last!!

AF improved last season with every run, he only reached his best in the CH when he was kept for a place and achieved just that. At Aintree Ruby rode him very patiently in rear and was probably going to win if not for the last flight fall. NTO again against Fauhgeen was ridden close to the pace which killed his winning chances but with so few in the race still got 2nd spot.
Then on the new season the feeling is that he's improved even more and went on to win everything he was put in and would've probably took the Ryanair Hurdle too if Mullins quest of finding a 3 miler didn't involved him. If he again gets ridden for a place in the CH he might again obtain it and if something happens with Faugheen I imagine the last CH runner-up would be the one Ruby rides. Still 10/1 is not value!! very surprised if thats the choice of P/W.. there's NC, TN, P&C, MTOY, IT who all have place claims and AF would need to be at his best to get in front of these, so the 10/1, even E/W is not value..

CC maybe Special Tiara or Felix also Vautour NRNB GC More of that NRNB thought he might av had a poke at Camping Ground for Churdle seeing as he loves that horse.

In fairness to him the championship races are really difficult ante post punting propositions. Arctic Fire, I'd be amazed if he won a CH and 10/ is no value. He could well get a place again if he is ridden like he was last year but it's competitive this year even for the placed positions.

finally, a value selection from P/w. RTR followed Coneygree's brutal pace twice around last GC, I think this time with a more steady pace he'll have more energy left at the end to win or go very close.

Rtr Been beaten 3 times now by Djakadam over a variety of trips and ground types, and don cossack beat them both comfortably at punchestown. Djakadam may also have improved this season as he was lightly raced going into last year's campaigned.

As b356 didnt cut the price according to oddschecker until 2032 they should be 16/1 again for about ten minutes at 830 tomorrow morning. I will be up to get a tenners worth i think worth at least that lol

I just cant see Gigginstown running Don Poli, Don Cossack and Road to Riches in the GC which would only leave them Valseur Lido for their own race. Although having seen RtR run so well last year it must be tempting to let him have another go.

Catchme if what I have heard on the Final furlong podcast is correct gigginstown will run every horse they have in the gold cup to try and win it! It's the be all and end all to them apparently and also don't back any of there's in the bumper as Eddie O'leary said they won't run any of there's in it! And while. I write this what's the guesses for his champion chase selection? Sire de grugy??

Road to RIches was the obvious choice for the Gold Cup,his price is value.
For some reason,he don't seem too popular on this forum.....anyone who pooh poohs him, care to explain, cos it's beyond me. AS far as I am concerned he is Gigginstowns best chance of victory in the Gold Cup.

I backed it tho this morning, I am one of them people not really bothered. In fact I don't understand posts like the one penzance put up there. Cos you always have the chance to back it for ten minutes in morning of the article!!

Thanks ronnie falls once again. I don't normally back price wise selections but he must talk to the yard surely, and if simonsig is fit, he'd have a decent ew shout at 14s. Not the deepest race and I can't have anything that was beat last year. Gone in on Dodging bullets ew at 9s nrnb also.

NO stevo1 i don't follow pw much to what many people might think. I have not backed Simonsig and at the moment unless something changes on here i.e market speaks in it's favor and i can still get a previous price, i wont be!

Don't get me wrong, I love Simonsig - but he must be 10-1 to even line up! He must be the most delicate horse in training and has missed more engagements than you can shake a stick at. Even if he is OK at the moment, chances are he'll pick up another 'niggle' (as Hendo likes to call them) before the Festival? Wouldn't the Ryanair be a more likely target anyway?

Henderson says he goes for the same race as Dodging bullets, can't remember the name but Mr mole won it last year. Then onto champion chase. It's nrnb so imo if he dosent run very well he won't line up, and money back. If he does run very well he's only going to shorten considerably.

Had another setback after failing to beat Bob's Worth over hurdles. Can't see it myself. I see the logic in wanting to run him because the race is full of yesterday's horses, barring UDS of course. And even he isn't bombproof. Good luck to all who have kept the faith. Hope he lines up fit and well and clear of all those splint problems.

ccm - because i believe he has an abundance of raw talent - and him being there on the day would signify the possibility (only possibility) of him being in top (or at least very good) shape particularly if he attracted money on the day - the kind of pace that uds would set would suit him down to the ground - personally i think uds would still win but he is the one horse that would worry me - i guess i still think the possibility remains to see a special performance from him - you clearly believe that is not possible - you could well be right - for the sake of the race i hope you are wrong.

I just think its so hard to get horses back after so many injuries.... especially to get him back to his best after one or two runs prior to a Championship race at the Festival. No doubt the horse has loads of talent, but he will need to be at his absolute peak to even give UDS a race over 2m imo ( he looks more of a stayer to me), and the chances of him being there are slim to me.

ccm - of course the chances of him being there are slim - that is precisely why if he does pitch up it is significant - the one positive against all the negatives re his injuries is he is still a very fresh horse and may not have slowed as much as you say in keeping with other horses as they get older. The trainer has always showcased his speed as being his main asset - so if he turns up on the day in this race rather than the ryanair i would imagine that is because speed and not staying ability is still his main asset. I may be alone but his inclusion would add a great deal of intrigue to me in a race that is otherwise a little short on intrigue - outside of the can sprinter get anywhere near back to his best.

I never want to see this guy's face on television again when the switch to ITV happens. Who honestly pays this guy a wage? Beyond embarrassing now, a wage thief of the highest order. Was funny for a while, now it just annoys me.
