Lots of talk about this being a great race, but how many will make the line up? Could this end up as a quality rather than quantity renewal? There is a chance that the big guns will force the connections of some of the lesser lights to seek other targets. Will we end up with a small field shoot out between the cream of the stayers? Coneygree (possilbly), Vautour, Don Cossack, Cue Card, Silviniaco Conti, Al Ferof... but who else will take on this lot?

Lets hope those 6 turn up, would be a great race. We dont need anymore to male up the numbers imo.

Dynaste, Menorah, Capt Chris, Wishful Thinking can usually be relied upon to turn up, fitness permitting. You'd hope for a field of 8, if only for decent ew terms on the day, imagine being able to back Coneygree at an ew thieves price Surprised

If Coneygree goes there, surely he goes off fav?

As I've already got my ew bet on my pocket hopes for about 5.

I expect they are tempting Coneygree's owners with real VIP treatment if they go to Ireland, so maybe they'll travel. Also why the £10k supplementary fee for Coneygree seems such a big deal when he won over £300k for them in the Gold Cup alone last year is beyond me??? They can't be short of a few quid.

The good news is we have 2 excellent races and I guess as long as they all turn up in one or the other, it'll be great to watch.

You could be right, I can't see there being 8 for sure - now looking like 5 or 6.Getting better for Vautour all the time.

I can see now why they weren't keen on putting up the 10k for the King George.

Really sad to see him out for the season. The big Xmas races & the Gold Cup will be the worse for it.

I'm in Conti ew myself, reasonably happy a bet to nothing if he turns up. We'll see.

Apache Stronghold will probably turn up at Kempton.

If it's going to get 3-miles (at Championship pace) anywhere it's at Kempton

I'd say Aintree is a more likely course. Kempton seems to find an awful lot of the two and a half maybe three milers out.

Yeah - I meant to see if Apache Stronghold has any pretensions to being a Gold Cup horse regarding him staying 3 miles.

If he doesn't get in the mix on Boxing Day, then I guess it's The Ryanair or as you say, wait for Aintree.

Judging by the exchanges, there's not going to be 3 places for long.

Looks like less than the 8 - last few hours for the eachway thieves!

wait how come only 8? so there's silviniaco conti, al ferof, cue card, vautour, don cossack, irish c., smad places, menorah, southfield t, apache s, thats 10.. anything else ? Smad place and Silvo will lead, Vautour, Cue Card tracking, Menorah& Southfield rear, Don, Apache and Southfield midpack. Silvo gets away from front only Don might catch him. Vautour stays he'll deal with Cue Card and Don. Vautour won't stay then Cue and Don will battle it out, Silvo outclassed.

Apache Stronghold is at 580 and Southfield Theatre at 510 on here, so they're not running. I'd be surprised if Menorah runs; he's ran in the last two renewals and finished 8/10 and PU. I think it depends on Smad Place: if he runs it's 8 runners, 7 if he doesn't.
