Would love to see him go for the World Hurdle.

Anyone know if that's the plan for him or is a chasing career possibly on the agenda?

I'd love to see him go chasing personally,JLT winner.

Surely deserves a crack at World Hurdle.

I guess it depends on what connections are going to do with More of That. I would suggest Jezki would stay hurdling.

Jezki has a great record at Cheltenham and if he can learn to settle early in his races he could go on to be an exceptional 3m staying hurdler for next few years. In my opinion this is one of the best AP bets of the 2016 Festival at 7/1.

Haylingbilly I think in the past my thought process has not been to dissimilar to yours regarding Cheltenham selections and whilst I believe jezki to have a perfectly reasonable chance stepping up in trip I can't agree with 7/1 being one of the AP bets of the festival.......... There is still a doubt he even stays 3 miles plus I think this could turn into one of the most competitive races of the meeting. Whisper, Cole harden and zarkander are all proven stayers with legitimate chances not to mention the up and coming horses Windsor park, killultagh vic, Martello tower, top notch, thistlecrack and shaneshill and there is even a chance one or two of saphir du rheu, Annie power, more of that, Arctic fire or un temps pour tout could run if their chasing career fails or connections decide to have a go at this....... Could be a real hot race. For what it's worth I would like to see twister step up the new one to 3 miles I think they know they can't win a champion hurdle with him he readily stayed the Neptune trip 3 years ago and the world hurdle seems the logical route for next March, can be backed at 33/1 on here!

Nice to be talking about Cheltenham again

barnesey - as you say good to be talking about Cheltenham again. Further qualification ref my comment about Jezki being one of the best AP bets in current market. My thinking is based on the fact, based on very painful experiences, I will only place AP bets on the 4 Championship races before January 1st. I think the Champion Hurdle and QMCC are unattractive as AP options with Faugheen and UDS  quite rightly hot favourites (although if I were to have a bet in each right now it would be EW on both Peace & Co and Dodging Bullets). The Gold Cup is very very competitive with 6/7 quality chasing stayers sure to be aimed at the race so am avoiding that from an AP perspective right now. So that only leaves the World Hurdle and I don't see too many certain-to-run quality hurdling stayers and coupled with that the fact I didn't think the 2015 World Hurdle was a top quality race which is why it was won by, in my opinion, a bang average Cole Harden. My assessment was the main threats are Annie Power (assumed OLGB Mares), More Of That (assumed Chasing), Saphir De Rheu (assumed Chasing), Whisper (assumed Chasing), Windsor Park (far from certain runner), Top Notch (far from certain runner), Zarkandar (far too may chances to prove himself and never has), Martello Tower (assumed Chasing), Thistlecrack (assumed Chasing). So that leaves Cole Harden and I just don't like him at the top level.

Net net, I agree with you if they all turned up it would be a fiercely competitive race but as stated above I think most of the competition are heading elsewhere.

Add to the above the fact I am desperate to have an AP bet for Cheltenham and voila…………its JEZKI screaming at me !    MischiefMischiefMischief

Whisper, Cole harden and zarkander are all proven stayers with legitimate chances not to mention the up and coming horses Windsor park, killultagh vic, Martello tower, top notch, thistlecrack and shaneshill and there is even a chance one or two of saphir du rheu, Annie power, more of that, Arctic fire or un temps pour tout

……and I agree if The New One was stepped up to 3m he would be extremely interesting.

Jezki out for the season Sad
Report Paterson92 September 25, 2015 12:04 PM BST
There's my first ante post down the drain and the season hasn't even started yet, new record even for me ....

"JEZKI, 6-1 joint-favourite with the sponsors for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle, will miss the season trainer Jessica Harrington has revealed."

'nuff said ref AP. AP and me are done. This is they year I finally close the door on Cheltenham Festival AP betting……...

Jezki, winner of the Champion Hurdle in 2014, has been ruled out for the season after suffering a setback.

The seven-year-old found old foe Hurricane Fly too strong on his first three starts of last season, but ended the campaign on a high by landing the Aintree Hurdle and the World Series Hurdle on his first start over three miles at Punchestown.

Jessica Harrington's stable star was the ante-post favourite for the World Hurdle at Cheltenham next March, but is now set for a lengthy period on the sideline

Harrington said: "Unfortunately he's out for the season.

"He came back into training in the second week of August and we found he had some heat in his leg yesterday (Thursday) morning.

"It's hard to stomach, but it's one of those things."

7/1 is never an antepost price. I could never have an antepost bet at less than 10/1 or 12/1. Everyone just needs to get a grip of themselves and stop letting the bookies take the piss. I saw some clown's £50 treble on twitter backing 3 Mullins hotpots, all antepost, all at 5/2 or less. Bookies must just be jizzing all over themselves when they see those bets come in.
Report Paterson92 September 26, 2015 12:21 PM BST
Completely agree, hence why I took the price on him for the World Hurdle before he ran over 3 miles for the first time at a double figure price. Was only a few quid but disappointing as a fan and a punter but that's racing. I was definitely looking forward to seeing him this year.
