Anyone heard if Henderson has pinpointed the reason for Hargam's shocker at Aintree? Surely that wasn't him running to form! If so, I would be wary about P&C and Top Notch for next season. Seen a few people put the 1-2-3 in this years Triumph Hurdle up as possible threats to Faugheen in next years Champion Hurdle. All 3 of course are open to plenty of improvement but I wouldn't be touching any of them until the form starts to add up.

Devilment of John Ferguson was beaten 15L in the triumph and ran to within 3/4L at the Aintree Grade 1.
Martin Pipes Stars Over The Sea was beaten 5L at Aintree but trailed home 24L behind Peace And Co.
Mullins' filly ran a close 2nd in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown after being beat 22L at the festival.

Hargam disappointed but the form is shaping up ok to me.

I think Peace And Co is the one to take out of the Triumph and hopefully will make up into CH horse.

Have a look back at Hargam in the paddock if possible, You'll see he's lame in behind and tucked up, He'd had a hard race at Cheltenham and it left it's mark. He'll bounce back next season.

Thanks for that brandy and gutfeeling. Unfortunately due to work I've missed a lot of Aintree and have only seen the replay of Hargam's race.

I was really disappointed with Hargam, so would be a relief is something is found why he was amiss.

Hoping he'll bounce back and I'm writing it off as one of those end of season races.  You'd have to say he's a million miles off a Champion Hurdle based on that performance though.

The really good ones never have excuses - they just win anyway.

At the Lambourn Open Day at Henderson's yard they were very lukewarm about Hargam. Very little scope and though the ground went against him at Cheltenham, they thought the same for Peace and Co.

A couple of the lads, in so many words, were very sweet on Peace and Co above all the other juveniles they have there. Hardly surprising because up close he's a fine physical specimen.
