Think we're going to see a bigger drift when a decision has been made. They should go for RSA though, he has more chances in it than the Gold Cup. Next year once that a festival run is checked off the list they can try the GC, but it would be foolish to try now even though LTO he jumped close to perfection!

lol I missed the prices on him so not really interested from a financial side, but he's one of the 3 I am realling looking forward to watch at the festival: Faugheen's sheer ability, UDS front running exhibition and Coneygree close to perfection jumping, in this order. I bet mostly on handicaps anyways so from the graded races those 3 points are on my wishlist this year so if I end up on a negative balance at least I'll still have these 3 to enjoy and why not maybe others will show up with great performances as well. BTW I can't remember a novice jumping so much better even than seasoned chasers, Can't wait to see how he goes round at Chelt, it should be memorable!

Yep,right with you on this one mate. Front running horses just love em,UDS in particular,nowt better in my eyes than a front running exciting 2 miler.
Coneygree  could be spectacular as well,and Faugheen could literally be anything.

Having backed Coneygree at 48 for the Gold Cup he will probably run in the RSA

Faugheen did a nice job as a frontrunner at Punchestown but he seems to know how to go through gears and blow them apart at business end, what is spectacular at UDS is that he goes straight into 4th gear and keeps it all the way throughout. Coneygree also did a good job as frontrunner but he's more of a stayer and doesn't have so many gears but he gains alot of ground with his great jumping. These 3 could be the ones I look back if they all perform to expectations. Last year beforehand I was only enthusiastic about Annie and she was unlucky to go against one too good over the wrong distance but this year in almost every graded race that I look at there's a potential star, quite amazing this year's depth!

Actually the more I think about it the more I want to see Coneygree in the GC, even if he doesn't win he'll put some pressure on Conti's jumping which failed him 2 years ago so why not. He's also value for the GC atm but wouldn't touch him without knowing for sure he was going for it, I've burned my fingers plenty times in the past

I doubt greatly that decision has been made this far out. No sign of a drift with bookies and no drift for GC so can't imagine it's an injury. It's just the nervous punter season with folk reacting position wise to every small drift or contraction. Relax and stop watching every small movement on here it will send you crazy before the real stuff even starts !!!

Havent backed it in any race,just passing on what i see,also only drifts with bookies following Betfair.
Top price 11/2 Hills shorter with rest, 7/1 on here for few quid, with hardly anything to lay.

So re above comments must go RSA as think he would win,which isn't the case in Gold Cup.
No brainer imo.

If she thinks the RSA is there for the taking, I'm sure they'll go that direction.  There is far less depth to that race compared to the Gold Cup.  If it is soft though they might take their chance in the Gold Cup, but I think it will need to be soft to have a chance against the real BIG BOYS.

I want to see him in the RSA, along with Don Poli, Kings Palace, Southfield Theatre and The Young Master. That will be a real spectacle. Old Course should suit a front runner better too.

I so want him in the RSA though that is pocket talking. That aside though i do think the RSA is the weaker race, though is it?

This race is going to cut up. Likely less than a 10 runner field which is unfortunate.

My only worry about him running here at all (RSA OR CGC) is he is a front runner, Kings Palace is a front runner. Isn't there a danger they could cut each others throats up front? I am on at 14/1, at that price I would back him again if not already on, at 4-5/1? And to think if he is confirmed for the RSA the chances of him being fav are huge!

Sara Bradstock: The faster the ground the less likely Coneygree will go for the Gold Cup (and head to RSA instead)

Looks like RSA if betting on here's anything to go by.  Been matched at 25 for Gold Cup.
