Retains two entries and Alan King has yet to definitively make up his mind. Would have a great chance in the Champion Chase if it came up soft - in fact would be more likely to go there given those conditions. Have taken some fancy prices on here. Ryanair will stretch his stamina imho.

Melling chase looks perfect for him. Any thoughts on this?

I know King is dismissive of it, but the horses festival record ain't good.
I'm a believer that some take to the festival, others don't - him bombing out three times in succession is enough to put me off.
Shame, as I think he is one of the best around over 2m-2.5m and expect him to dot up at Aintree if getting there fit and well.

I'd prefer to see him in the champion chase. I think his form with Simply Ned from Aintree last year is top drawer and with genuine good to soft ground he could sit off the pace and challenge late. 50/1+ on here last I looked is worth a poke, 10's if he turns up. Agree with Desmond re: Aintree.

I like him but not for Cheltenham, with form figures FUF.Record in fields of six or less now reads 11131F1511211.
He will run in the Ryanair tho.

Champion Chase might end up the smaller field, and if it comes up genuine good to soft or slower I wouldn't rule him out. From what I know the connections will make a late decision. Fancy prices on here if you think he might run in the champion, could well be worth a small punt rather than 12/1 or so NRNB.

Forgot to add... it could become more tempting for King should Sire De Grugy or Sprinter Sacre fail to make the gig.

Hope so as ive backed him for the QM,but after watching him all season he looks a better more comfortable horse at 2 and a half, and his jumping looks better as well.

King's quote in RP today

'I don't see any point in going back to two miles in the Queen Mother. It's got to be the Ryanair. We've got him back on track now and his confidence is high.'
