I wonder if anybody can help me here, there's a group of us going to Benidorm for the festival (first time for me) and a few of the "older" who have been before but only bet at the bookies said its a bit of a nightmare getting your bets on cause the bookies is mobbed. I prefer to bet on my mobile but is it possible? I've heard from some people you can but some say you can't. Can anybody confirm it for me, got accounts with nearly everybody but don't really want to deposit before i go and get across there only to find i can't access any getting sires. If i can then so you just do it through normal roaming or do i need wi-fi. Thanks for any advice...

You will be able to bet with some, and not with others. Paddy are definitely ok as are Boyles. Ladies definitely won't be... Can't quite remember the full breakdown, but the two I mentioned are definitely ok. Just try each app when you get there!

was there last year for gold cup day, The winning post in the english square was chokker but cracking atmosphere, they take all bets and much as you want to sis shows and have a large screen for the racing.

betfair app worked to 02 pay as you go data but its expesive its 4 quid for 30MB of data what basically lasts 15 mins if your lucky. local wifis betfair doesnt work at all and neither does oddschecker.

theres a ladbrokes on lavente beach the old town end, but how you place a bet in there god only knows, I walked past a bwin to and the guy in there said he didnt take bets, but showed all the racing, what was puzzling.

Id get your bets in the morning at The winning post you will get some early prices, and find a good pub to watch the racing.

Cheers for info guys, yeah FF thats exactly what i heard, get there in the morning and get the bets on cause its too busy between races. We're planning on watching it around the large screen area. Was just hoping to bet via my mobile so i can track the win/loss scenario and if i'm lucky i don't want to be getting too drunk and blowing/losing my winnings!

Agree with Fashion fever, there are a couple of ladbrokes and another official bookies but seems to have to bet on terminals and all looks pretty complex.  Winning post will take your bets and there are also a number of other smaller british bars who will do the same.

Would not allow me to bet on bet365.   Do you have a mate back at home who you can trust and can put bets on for you?  simply text him over the picks

Some pals from Edinburgh are going to Benidorm for Cheltenham. Apparently, they say, you can get bets on in some of the pubs out there.

P.S. Its cheaper tham paying £150-£200 per night in a travel lodge!

There's a group of us flying from Dundee, most of my betting pals are going but there's a few who could do still here. The good lady has offered but 1) She'll no be happy when she finds out how much is at risk in the betting pot 2) If i win she'll be wanting a cut.

There is a pub called the Stretford end  just opposite the indoor market which is well set up as a bookies......horses and football with loads of screens, cheap beer and decent pub food.....but it is clearly ( from the name) a Man Utd theme pub so if you can stomach that it's well worth a visit

A load of my mates are going out to Benidorm for it this year. I can't go due to work commitments but should be good. Advice for Betfair users. Use your 3G to log on to the app. Once you are logged on you should be able to use wifi. You can't get past the login page using wifi.
