Probably the biggest mind field i can remember for this race

you would think nicholls canyon would go there, mullins seems to have a load for the race, all closely rated on ratings

brutal stuff

Yeh,not often we have a Neptune with such an open look, not doing very well at all I aint.

I do like Parlour Games and will probably back him on the day.Reckin he could be a nice price.
Report Saritamer February 8, 2015 6:29 PM GMT
That's twice now I've watched Windsor Park being given the tenderest of rides. I wouldn't be bullish enough to say it will reverse the form with Nicholls Canyon at Cheltenham but can see it cruising round of a fast pace at and going close. Looks to me like they have only been concerned with giving it an education in top class races.
Report delsie777 February 8, 2015 6:34 PM GMT
I was really impressed with Nichols Canyon. I think he is a worthy fav for this. Solid jumping and good pace for this sort of trip. Seems to have progressed past Shaneshill. Tell Us More is the one who could still be a bit better than he showed the last day. Worry about Parlour Games at Cheltenham - but then i worry about all Ferguson horses at Cheltenham
Report Ibrahima Sonko February 8, 2015 6:37 PM GMT
Me too, i was expecting NC to be clear favourite after todays run but that is down to the entries.

I would need a big price on a ferguson horse, like delsie posted i think a lot of horses are soft.
Report buddeliea February 8, 2015 6:38 PM GMT
Yeh ive read a few comments re fergusons horses at Cheltenham,to be honest it don't bother me.
Report delsie777 February 8, 2015 6:44 PM GMT
Trouble with Ferguson's is that most were good class flat horses. The undulations at Cheltenham always seem to find them out. They jump ok all season then come into a Championship race at Prestbury and the pace and nature of the track makes their jumping erratic. What was the good one of his who some thought would have beaten Simonsig in the Neptune had it not run out?
Report Arklearkle February 8, 2015 6:48 PM GMT
Normally there is a stand-out or two in the Neptune but this year its a really eeny-meeny job and appears to be getting more cloudy all the time. Had an early bet on Tell Us More. Havent written it off but wont be spending the winnings yet either. This race the AB and the RSA seem pretty difficult at this stage but at least if you pick a winner you probably get a price.

I still like TUM but after today, I think Nichols Canyon is a stand out in this field. Will love the probable ground at the Festival. 8-1 makes him a bet. Could get backed in to a stupid price when Ruby commits
Report harry callaghan February 8, 2015 7:24 PM GMT
personally thought the deloitte was just an average renewal myself on paper...another horse added to the mix today making it even more difficult to solve...i like a couple but not betting till declaration time myself as it is very tight indeed
Report sintonian February 8, 2015 7:27 PM GMT
Agree, lots of hype about Alvisio but he was thumped today. The Irish hurdlers do not look particularly strong, not as strong as the chasers anyway.
Report delsie777 February 8, 2015 7:28 PM GMT
Only Douvan and L'Ami Serge missing really, Harry.
Report harry callaghan February 8, 2015 7:56 PM GMT
it's not that delsie personally i just don't really see any stand out from a handicapping prospective, i've got 7 horses rated very closely myself with improvement and all that stuff taken into account...i hope walsh is on nicholls canyon myself as they will at least make him shorter than he should be...there is a couple i like but until they declare it is to difficult for me to fathom or find a market i would be happy with to play in, add to that what is willie going to run?

if all is well with shaneshill? i could see him departing to the supreme but the market is very weak on the horse in both markets, so who knows i certainly haven't got a clue myself
Report delsie777 February 8, 2015 8:11 PM GMT
There was talk of Shaneshill running at Clonmel over 2m6f on tuesday but I hear that Black Hercules is taking that option, so I don't know. I guess Ruby will be choosing between the Wylie runners as most of Willie's Neptune horses are Giggy's. Surprising that the Riccis don't seem to have a Neptune horse
Report harry callaghan February 8, 2015 8:23 PM GMT
the riccis did have a neptune horse delsie - douvan would be going if the other horse hadn't of died earlier in the season
Report Tory February 8, 2015 9:35 PM GMT
Absolute minefield at the moment. Add in the fact that Deloitte winners in last 10yrs who have run in the neptune have finished 745440, and that 8 of the last 10 winners started in points or bumpers, and it gets even harder!!
Report wellchief February 8, 2015 9:53 PM GMT
Have to agree with Saritamer on this re Windsor Park.  Both him and Silver Concorde were given easy rides today and expect both of them to be in the mix in the Supreme and Neptune finishes.

Weld is 0 from 7 at Cheltenham over hurdles, but recently he's had Hissabaat, Rite of Passage and Unnaccompanied all place in Grade 1's.
Report Ibrahima Sonko February 8, 2015 9:56 PM GMT
Silver Concorde doesnt not jump quick enough to ever be placed in hurdle race at cheltenham.
Report ReaseHeath February 16, 2015 12:51 PM GMT
Weld was quoted in the Pricewise Supreme preview as saying Silver Concorde is unlikely to travel to Cheltenham.

Just starting to think about this race, I believe Ordo Ab Chao might be a bit underrated by the market just now.He clearly did n't give his running behind Vyta Du Roc at Sandown and then after his Cheltenham win all the focus seemed to be about Value At Risk going for the Albert Bartlett instead of the Neptune.Thistlecrack gave a nice form frank to his Cheltenham win on Saturday although it's probable that one did n't run his race at Cheltenham.

I s'pose it's conceivable that he could end up in the Albert Bartlett too - his sire's offspring include stayers like If In Doubt, Trustan Times and Galaxy Rock - but more likely to run here on the back of his recent course win, I would've thought.
