Oops, never noticed the race already has a thread but the original question stands.

when atr were at mullins yard a few months back it seemed as though ruby and willie had a lot of time for this one ,very enthusiastic about it ! seemed to me as tho this was the apple of their eye so to speak ,problem is price gone and not 100%sure wether supreme or Neptune !

If it bolts up in at Leopardstown,( Deloitte Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) ) I'm guessing it will be a 5/4 chance. I might just lump on this beast a 2s whilst available.
PS the 'lump on' means visiting a few 'bookmakers'... |

By:
think the owner was also very keen on this one

They only started bigging this up when allez columbieres died !

No matches were found for allez columbieres??

What do you mean?
By:
Is it the name of a horse?
By:
It was favourite for the race before Xmas, supposedly one of the best they ever had, rich ricci talked in glowing terms about it,it got injured and died, can't believe you never heard of it !

can't believe you never heard of it
The name rings a bell but your pronunciation isn't on the RP database. |

Don't be s dick STEWARTY B!

Trust me, that's the last thing on my mind. Anyways, I'm backing this beast and my impression is that it hasn't came out of third gear. GL on whatever your selection is.

See original and no bullshit thread on Douvan.
By:
Thanks stevo 1. Never did my homework here, re:threads.
By:
It was spelt Allez Colombieres.
Have to say, it doesn't feel like a worthwhile reservation, but that's mine as well. Same owner / trainer combo have a horse they make no secret about being their number one Supreme chance, then when he sadly dies, they have another one just as good. This horse wasn't mentioned much until a couple of months ago. Doesn't look a vintage renewal, but I think he's a shocking price. |

Thanks for you input CCM,

They only started bigging this up when allez columbieres died !
were they expecting a one two, total hype brigade... |
By:
I had a little on Douvan at 12s when Allez C was still alive and kicking based on some info I read that connections held this fella in equally high regard.
By:
Douvan has one chance, no chance.
By:
why?
By:
Tempted to stick a few quid on Douvan but 2/1 on here (less commission) yet still 2/1 with the books. (two of them going 9/4....)

Douvan has one chance, no chance Is this the guy who has recently set a new record for tipping consecutive losers? |

Took 9/2 on L'ami Serge on Saturday..might be bigger on the day but he could go off favourite too. Jollys Cracked was thumped 14 lengths by him at Sandown and was again beaten 14 lengths in the Newbury Hurdle on Saturday but made a bad mistake at the second flight and was always struggling after that, he did well to get 5th! L'ami would have smashed that field.

Held up well in rear, plugged on from 2 out, went modest 5th run-in ![]() |

Yes, Douvan is too short at 2/1. Yes, Douvan will likely be a bigger price on the day and yes, it was a field of 3 milers he beat last time out BUT people seem to forget that L'Ami Serge was neck and neck with Paul Nicholl's horse Emerging Talent and you could even argue that Emerging Talent was going the better of the two and would certainly have been an interesting finish had he not fell 2 out leaving L'ami well clear. The form of that has not worked out one bit, Emerging Talent is not Supreme quality and I'm surprised more people do not pick up on this.

By:
Anybody worried about quicker spring ground for him? I read something about Douvan showing a bit of knee action, and then saw this about his sire.
Douvan is by Walk In The Park. A son of Montjeu, the 2005 Derby runner-up is emerging as a distinct soft-ground influence. With his eldest progeny now six, Walk In The Park has sired the winners of 10 jumps races; five were achieved on ground officially described as heavy, three on soft and two on what the French term very soft. Food for thought. |
By:
Betting very strange as I type..
By:
Completely disagree Paterson. Emerging Talent always tanks along and is clearly classy, just immature imo. that's going some way to put down L'ami Serge.
By:
When I last typed there was no money for Douvan on the back side. Peanuts at 5.9 now. Anybody got any up to date information please?
By:
Last price matched 6.2.
Something fishy going on. |
By:
Still 6/4 at PP. There can't be a lot wrong.
By:
Hope not.
By:
Backed it at 2s for the supreme. Hasn't came out of third gear yet. (IMHO)
By:
I think it's probably someone clicked the wrong side. The thing is, Twitter turns every rumour into
a crisis. Maybe someone's trying to get a decent bet on at 9/4 ![]() |
By:
Even so Alleged, both reports say he did not get the best of paths during the race and he still managed 5th.
By:
Money coming for Douvan now on here. A pleasing sign from my perspective.
By:
Forfeit stage tomorrow so after that we should have a better idea of where the various protagonists might be turning up. Although I would imagine WM might leave them all in their various races until the last minute
