Worth tuning in for alone for Ruby shouting him and Mark Howard down when they claimed Vibrato Valtat was a flat track horse. As Ruby pointed out that his wins at Sandown and Exeter where up mountains.

Chris Dixon is his name. A reporter only so what more can you ask. You've watched Mick Fitz today? His words before a race began was the horse x is value e/w at 5/2... His brother Martin Dixon is a proper expert in horse racing, unlike many on tv and wannabe's on these forums.
It was a farce of a programme waste 2 hours learned nothing, they weren't asking any serious questions to Ruby.. were pampering him like he was God...

wait I did learned one thing, Ruby will ride the Fly, he didn't said so himself, but in all interviews he's bashing Faugheen. In this interview was even worse because he thought that in the Christmas Hurdle Faugheen beat Sea Lord LOL and that Irving was the one to beat, however all handicapers coming into the race had Purple Bay higher on the ratings than Irving so the placings confirmed the form quite nicely.
If it rains with 1-2 weeks prior to Chelt I'm 90% sure he'll get on the Fly, doesn't matter if the ground will turn out good, he just needs an excuse. Even without the rain, the way he trash talks Faugheen I guess he'll probably still ride Hurricane Fly. Good thing is that Faugheen has done even better with other jockeys, take his bumper the 22 lengths beating of Josses Hill only occurred because of the jockey who pushed him to the limits.

Thanks......Chris Dixon eh, I had seen him on TV before but never really listened to him,i certainly will never be taking any notice of what he says,bl00dy awful trash he was talking.

timtin i'm not so sure...i think its more a fact that hurricane fly has been there done it and proven himself an exceptional horse. faugheen has got a looooong way to go in that regard.
i think its more out of respect for hurricane fly, than negative for faugheen

yeah sure, but when naming Fly beaten horses he prides himself with Jezki and Arctic Fire scalps, and when naming Faugheen beaten horses he says Sea Lord(confusing Purple Bay colours).. that to me sounds like respecting Fly which everyone does, and trash talking Faugheen adversaries to achieve what ? Yes Faugheen needs to do it, he has long way to go but why talk bad about his beaten adversaries unless you think he's beaten nothing and you'll ride Fly. At least I'll have no surprises when/if he announces he'll ride Hurricane Fly.

I know most disagree because walsh has this hard nosed air about him , but I think there is a sentimental thing going on too, I think he wants to find reasons to ride HF and the "chance" of him winning without him being on him is a way worse scenario than him losing on him and faugheen winning.

The Fly is a great horse but has never acted at Cheltenham, seems a strange thing to say about a horse thats won 2 champions but both Jockey trainer has said he's NEVER been at his best their....

I am not sure who he will ride, i think too he could get back on the hurricane and certainly would be interested in a small bet at 5/1 in the coming days/weeks! It's a bet you don't mind being wrong about!

Anyone who thinks Ruby Walsh rides Hurricane Fly over Faugheen hasn't got a notion about the game.....its not even up for debate..... What a load of bawloxx.....and anyone spouting this rubbish should be ashamed of themselves....

oh paulie, you're so cute.. how many other things are not up for debate in your opinion? Give us a list of your certainties and we'll bow to them as if they're Gods commands.. btw only fools believe in certainities in life so my advise to you and robbo is always allow a margin of error so that you won't get an heart attack when you find out you were dead wrong.
It doesn't matter anyway who rides Faugheen, maybe other jockeys will get something more out of him than Ruby's motionless style.

a notion of Ruby Walsh thoughts? In all his interviews he downplays Faugheen. Its clearly only a matter of finding excuses to ride Hurricane Fly. What notions do you have of Ruby brain? Are you Ruby Walsh? If not then go dream of more certainties to share with us tomorrow...

timtin......can you please in the history of racing point out to me.....where a jockey who had a choice rode the one that was ten times the price of the other......just one will do.....

The point here is not what Ruby Walsh will ride is it? It is the use of opinion as actual fact which is a very big no no on here!
What horse RW rides is of no issue to me, i really couldn't give to flying hoo haws! But still would have a little nibble at the 5/1 no problem as i feel does a lot on this forum that the price is too high, where have you been all winter i wonder? All the comments that have come from both Mullins and Walsh which would suggest it is a much harder a decision than it would appear to be!
robbo69, eggs on faces? Why you think that my friend? Utter ridiculous thing to say!
This forum is for people with OPINIONS to share, not donuts like yourselves

geez, I hope you will both stop post nonsense in the future if Ruby will ride the Fly. As for myself, I won't be surprised to see that happening based on how he constantly insults Faugheen adversaries. Will leave you both alone with your certainties now...

"suggest it is a much harder a decision than it would appear to be"
Exactly, even yesterday Ruby said it is a much closer decision than the 1/10 5/1 currently on offer. And anyone who has been watching their interviews will have some doubts about who he'll ride. P. Townend doesn't know it also but these 2 around here are giving me lectures as if they're in Ruby's mind. They're going through a phase of certainities in their life, they will eventually grow up or will remain the fools who think their opinions are facts.

You'll get used to PW Tintin, Think of him as the pub bore who could do everyone's job better than them but hasn't worked in a decade and you'll be on the right track.

All this talk of certainties I guess no one has considered 1 or both not turning up or Ruby not riding either due to a injury, Hopefully none of those transpire but they are also possibilities are they not.

I don't think it's clear cut either , but another way of looking at the down playing of Faugheen compared to HF could be simply out of respect to HF, he could simply be wanting to try and put across to people that it is actually a tough decision whether it is in his own mind or not....a kind of easy dismissed view of HF wouldn't be something he'd not want to do.

Def quite possibly the hardest decision or one of the in his racing career, on a par with kauto and denman he said in one interview I saw or read this year! Trying to remember where it was I remember that from. Might have been some pundit speculating it being in a newspaper article mind lol. But since I've become inclined to believe that that guess by that pundit if it was a pundit (it was def said somewhere) was accurate

Think Chris Dixon is OK tbh but his brother i've seen many times on ATR and he seems a slave to the ratings Timeform produce and a lot of the bets he puts up, from when i've watched him, have lost, where as i've seen the RUK dud put up some winners.

I'd imagine that Dixon wanted to flatten him tbh, the fact is that Walsh comes across as a narky so and so and likes to jump on anything out of place making the other guy look a bit small in the process.......unfortunately though when Geoff Banks told him like it was with regards to Quevega on CH4, he couldn't handle one bit and went a bit loopy.

Conversation he had with Walsh re TNO in the CH last year was nothing short of embarrassing. The one where he said a horse was a flat track and then Walsh said he had won at Sandown and Exeter. That wrent too clever either. Gonna have these programmes at least have pundits that know what they are talking about.
