She's back riding out and the Mares is the most likely race for her said Mullins on Wednesday.

Mullins has turned a good horse into a joke.

Expect the next 7 years she'll turn up in the mares, win at 1/4 every time.

Like others in the stable I don't think she was campaigned with her best interests at heart last year and I fear it will be similar this year. Mares Hurdle? Sorry a nothing race.

Well we have the Quevega bar,few years time we can have theAnnie Power Hog Roast!!
Or maybe they will go chasing before it's too late......I presume she can jump a fence? Size of her she ought to I imagine.

Very brave, anyone taking evens on her, even for the mares.

Willie was a master at bringing Quevega back for one race a year, but Annie Power is a different horse, and I assume would need to be trained differently.  I know she'll miles ahead of anything else ratings wise, but 10 months off would be a big worry.

The plan was always to run Quevega in it first time each year, but this wouldn't be the plan for Annie.

We've seen with Sprinter the effects after running after a big lay off.

i just didnt like the way she won at punchestown

that world hurdle was her most demanding race in every way, she might not have gotten over it yet, could have bottomed her etc.

i think at the current price she's very good lay

I'm not sure where she's supposed to go in opposition to the Mares Hurdle unless they miss the Festival completely. She'd run well but not well enough in either the Champion Hurdle or the Stayers Hurdle.

Her stablemate Glens Melody would have chance if showing, went close last season behind Quevega, despite blundering 2 out.

If Mullins can have her in the same form as when she destroyed Zarkandar in the Ascot Hurdle despite being on the gross side, she would win this running backwards.

^^^ No doubt mate. Just depends on how big a setback she has had and how fit she is after 10 months off.

Her current price could look massive on the Tuesday, but I wouldn't be backing her in a single at the odds (may throw her in a few small stake trebles though)

She's probably a good thing. I think she was better than Quevega and we all know how that story played out each year.

perhaps I could remind you guys that its the owner of the horse that decides where and which race their horse will run.
the trainer can give advice but the owner has the final say.Cool

To be honest, Walsh and Mullins have been making a small bit of an eejit out of Rich Ricci this season. That's my opinion anyway.

Annie Power running in this and not the Stayers Hurdle where she was just beaten last year
Faugheen going to the Champion Hurdle without a prep race and missing all the Irish G1's all season (accommodating Hurricane Fly)
Champagne Fever's campaign and still no suitable target at the Festival identified
Vautour running in the JLT and not the Arkle (accomodating Un De Sceaux)
Douvan missing every single one of the Irish G1's to let Wylie's and Gigginstown's horses run in them (accomodating Nichols Canyon, Tell Us More and whatever runs in the Deloitte)

For all he's invested in the Mullins stable, he's only won 1 Grade to-date this season yet Mullins has provided Gigginstown with 3 from far less horses.

Is she on track for Cheltenham?

Yes, Mullins said she was all good for Cheltenham and then possibly head to Aintree in todays column.

OK cheers.

Agree with SYT in that Mullins has made a little embarassment of Ricci. As a banker with £200m+ plus in the bank I am sure he is used to getting what he wants when he wants it.

Agree also. Being based in England the temptation to put horses with English trainers must be there.

I'm looking to oppose AP in the Mares antepost. Obviously on form she should win easily but at this stage well worth chancing something else. The Pirates Queen I'm considering atm...
