Aye, the first year I started following racing as a 10/11 year old was 81. Rathgorman won at Wetherby on my first ever day at the Races in Feb 82 and I recall lifted the Champion chase in 82. With all respect to Kevin Whyte can you imagine jocks of his calibre been given the leg up on fancied horses in the championships these days ?? :)
