Only a pain working out because he purposely sends out the wrong signals. Paddy power knew the score, yet pinnochio told joe blogs otherwise.

If you're referring to the possibility of Don Poli going or the 4m Graeme, he said after his beginners that the four mile was a likely target. Only after the last race did he say that the RSA will also be considered. Anyway, he's not run in the 4m yet.
Regarding Vautour, Mullins and Walsh have been saying all season that he'll have no problem stepping up in trip, and that Un De Sceaux is an Arkle horse. How is that 'purposely sending out the wrong signals'? |
By:
Slabster rich Ricci has said all season that the arkle was Vautour's target
By:
Same as it ever was.

I'm still looking good with all my antepost bets on his string so far.
The two worry items were, Vautour & Shaneshill. Even though I believe Vautour was to be aimed at the JLT it was conditional on Un De Sceaux making into an Arkle horse. Shaneshill was also open to either Supreme or Neptune. I think the deatch of Allez Colobmieres has resulted in Douvan taking the Supreme slot and Shaneshill going Neptune. As such both Vautour and Shaneshill I've backed to win any race at Cheltenham. The lesson to be learnt from this season is wait until he has done his stable tours. He did give away Vautour stepping up in trip. |
By:
And as cufcno1 stated above owner stated Vautours target was Arkle, someones talking bollox as usual but who knows with this stable.maybe wont know where some are heading till final decs. Or does Ruby sort it all out,no matter where the owners want to run?

Fook me, going back to immediately after the mullins quote after the neptune that vautour was on a different level....he also added that faugheen needed fences

If Don Poli goes for 4 miler ( no Bet ),I will be shocked.

By:
If Don Poli goes for the 4 miler with that fookin muppet Mullins on board, I'll cry.
By:
Why that was the best ride ever in last year's with suntiep,my mate would have punched him if he got near him !
By:
Fortunately, Gigginstown have their own riders and I'd be surprised if O'Leary allowed Patrick anywhere near Don Poli. Derek O'Commor or Jamie Codd.....now you're talking!
Despite the fact that I have backed him to win any race, I want him in the RSA with Cooper up...he'll take all the beating. |
By:
Derek O'Connor even....

Didn't mikey foggarty win on it last year
By:
Yes he did but it was a boy's race and Fogarty's competent.......

Giggenstown have Wounded Warrior for the 4 miler. Don Poli is their RSA horse. Giggenstown decide where their horses run, not Willie Mullins.
By:
I've had a little bit on Wounded Warrior for the 4 miler on here CVB. His form behind Don Poli reads very well. Jumped very poorly last time though so who knows?
When Cooper did his podcast for the Irish Field before Xmas, his thoughts were Valseur Lido JLT, Don Poli RSA and Wounded Warrior NH Chase but I suspect Gigginstown could make up half the field for the 4 miler if they so chose! he also said the VL was the novice chaser he was most looking forward to riding. His and Don Poli's form are both rock solid and progressive. |
By:
Bryan Cooper laughed at the suggestion that Don Poli would run in the 4 miler. That was before his last win over 3 miles so it now looks even more likely RSA will be the target. My frustration and of course pocket talk is the likely possibility that Vautour will now run in the JLT.
By:
I'm a big fan of Wounded Warrior, also have him for the 4 miler on here. He should run this Saturday at Naas in the race Foxrock and Tofino Bay both won en route to the 4 Miler.
I've been making sure to get my bets for the 4 miler on before Don Poli is confirmed for RSA. So have also got Mala Beach and The Job is Right. |

Off track bit CV do you think Djakadam will show Sunday as pretty poor race for the money, but see PP have him best price 6/1. So more than likely not going?
By:
Nope, they are still thinking of him for the Gold Cup so Thyestes will be his target next. I'm currently looking through the race on Sunday to get a bet before Djakadam in not declared. Annoyed that Abbey Lane went over 2 miles instead of this 2m5f race which was made for him.
By:
Cheers CV wondered why he was 6/1,looked pretty poor quality race tbh.
By:
It's a dire race, can't find a bet. Rubi Light at 25/1 is best I can come up with
![]() Just read in RP Mullins say Djakadam will probably go Thyestes. So looks like plans haven't changed. |
By:
It is looking a poor race for the money CVB. Very pleasing as we are running our fella with Baz on board

For the last couple of years there has been quite a bit of banter re the 4 miler especially from Patrick Mullins - normally something along the lines that he would be trying to convince the owner/Willie to run a good one in it. Can only see Don Poli in the RSA. If UDS comes through his next test and stays sound he runs in the Arkle with VDL and Vautour in the JLT. I reckon its simple enough but unforeseen injuries change things. With the amount of possible runners WM has it would be stupid of him to commit too early.
By:
Sadly, I agree with your summary Arkle. I say sadly because whilst I have Vautour to win any race, I believe he has a better chance of beating UDS in the Arkle than VL in the JLT. VL has been the most impressive novice chaser in Ireland this season. This opinion is not influenced by wagers - I haven't backed either UDS or VL though will certainly back the latter when they go NRNB.
By:
I would believe Vautour to win any race to be a good bet but as always depends on the price. I have him at 9/2 which will be a good bet if he turns up.
By:
Don Poli at 6yo would be an unusual winner of the RSA and rates poor value at current odds
By:
This horse looks good though collector,Florida pearl was only 6,this horse has already won at Cheltenham
By:
True. He was very good though
By:
i see valseur lido is due to run 3 miles at naas on saturday if he gets the trip the RSA would be a real head sctatcher
By:
5 of the 10 entries for the Naas race are Gigginstown horses. VL is also entered over a shorter trip at Leopardstown on Sunday, which would be an ideal JLT trial. He's also entered in the Irish Arkle! This horse is much more about speed than stamina.
By:
VL is much more about soft ground imo.

Not sure sint. He ran Vautour and Faugheen to very similar distances on decent ground over hurdles at 2 miles at Cheltenham and Punchestown. I think this is the best form he has in the book and he was always going to make a better chaser. He is a very classy horse.

Good luck Sunday CCM *needs thumbs up smilie*
By:
is on his own a runner or hennessy????
By:
Thanks CVB. Bit worried the trip will stretch him and he's a hard horse to get 100% fit, but it's an unbelievable pot for the quality of the race.
By:
WPM definitely under a cloud IMO.
By:
Some of his big runners aren't doing too well but he's 14 winners from 30 runners for the last 2 weeks and had a treble today.
