Good young horse this but seems to win everywhere bar Cheltenham, being aimed at the Grand national according to trainers stable tour at the start of the season, has the plan changed?

jonjo said today in the post that he entered shuthef in the gold cup today and that the next stop is the irish hennesey and all options are open ,gold cup seems on the agenda and it could be significant that he is aiming him t the irish hennesey . he also said holywell s jumping has gone to pot and he will go for the cleeve hurdle ,and tarquin du seuil may also go to Cheltenham at the end of the month , worth noting that shuthefrontdoor was only 4 lengths behind holywell at the festival in a staying hurdle giving that horse 5lb ,you may be right that he may be better going right handed but with his connections I would not worry about his previous chelt form as they probably wanted his mark down for the irish national .

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ holywell may go cleeve hurdle next as his jumping has gone to pot but it was like that last season when he went to the small tracks to try to get him going ,we cant do that now with his rating .

And hes 3rd fav for Gold Cup!!!!!

Can't knock him for winning but still only rated 153 and absolutely nothing from the Irish National or the Carlisle race has franked the form suggesting the races were there to win and he duly did. The Irish Hennessy will tell us if he is in with a shout but seems a pretty short price for what he's actually achieved and only 6th in the 4m last year.

yeah good points shock and I cant knock them ,just think that with these connections some iffy runs are par for the course and an agenda was on the horizon i.e the irish national not the novice chases or the 4 miler . am surprised he is rated only 153 ,I would have him around 159-160 but the of handicapper knows best ,just think that connections aiming at the lexus then the hennesey tells me they think he could be a fair bit better than his rating .................winning the irish grand national as a novice with a fair bit of weight was a decent performance and he seems to me a lazy type who just does enough may be well of f the mark here but have put my money where my mouth is so there to be shot at !

budd I know holywell has not looked too good this season but have a look at his win at Aintree ,he was a different horse from the one that was running earlier in the season looked as fit as a flea and as said before with this stable its all about the big day !

But he now has to prove he can jump alongside the best of them in a Gold Cup,and his trainer says his jumpings gone to pot!! Should be double the price he is now at least imo.

I see where you are coming from Foyles, as there are clear similarities to Synchronised, but I think this is a stronger Gold Cup than Synchronised faced.
I could see STFD staying on at the end past beaten horses, but as you say, will have to improve significantly between now and March. There are some at similar and bigger prices that I'd rather be on, but good luck mate. |

yeah we will see the hennesey will be interesting and tell us more ,I wouldn't give up on your taquin bet either ,I looked on jonjos website and they said after his 2nd to menorah that they now know he stays 3m + , I have been topping up at 70s and 60s on here with dribs and drabs keep the faith !
