New to this so could someone explain the idea of a plunge to me please. We all pile into the same horse in the festival?

That's the idea dm. To avoid confusion, probably best just referring to the established thread.

1) A well respected forum member, with a history of picking out winners, carefully spends days studying the form book.

2) He/she then makes a selection ( usually a big priced outsider not a 5/4 shot like Faugheen ) a few days prior to the race.

3) Every single one of us pile on, the bookmakers in fear of such an onslaught cut the selection from 33/1 to 14's.

4) The beast does an unsinkable boxer and we all get rich... meeting up on the Sunday after the festival at a country mansion. We spend all night drinking an incredibly expensive single malt, taking the purest cocaine and cavorting with the finest blonde haired Russian models money can buy.

just out of interest, what was last year's plunge horse?

we did a handicap single and a 3 horse big price multi treble........unfortunately it did not come off ,but smallish stakes so no real harm done and as someone once said the bookies have to be lucky everytime we just need to be lucky once with the big price multi !

Sods law the treble we did was a Gigginstown one. Day four they had four bloody winners including  40/1 Savello ( won at 16's but was 40's 20 mins before the race and 33/1 shot in very wood.
