was having the same thought myself.. just have a sense that we're not going to see Simonsig or SS at the festival. BW will probably make it but i think the hard races over the years have taken their toll. Not sure re BT or Whisper, or JH... but it does leave you wondering why hendo seems to have these issues..

He appears to have these issues but it may simply be because he has so many good high profile horses. I'm sure other trainers have plenty of criples also - its just they dont get the media coverage.

Absolutely. I bet if you went round every yard you would find horses on the sidelines.

Four of them ex Festival winners as well, real shame was looking forward to Beat That and Jossies Hill most as everything in front of them.
Lets hope they are out in New Year sometime,as quality of top races this season has been pretty average.

Don't be fooled by old blue eyes. He's as aggresive as anyone when it comes to winning races or titles. They will run when they're ready to.

But come January time will be running out, with ground conditions etc and meetings off, lets hope not be good to see few of them run.

Josses Hill is out on Friday unless I've missed something

Yes he is Grade 2,lets hope he shows should be decent race over 2m 3f. We need something this side of water to challenge the 2 Mullins horses.

In comparison to PFN, Hendo does seem to have a woeful record of keeping his stars fit and well season after season. Oscar Whisky being a rare exception who graced us with his class for a good few years and of course Bobsworth produced at three festivals.
Certainly not knocking his abilities to produce one for the big meeting as his record is second to none, but as I say, they rarely come back for more (IMO).

Looks a hot race for Josses to be making his debut in tomorrow

Yes should be informative contest,we need something this side of water to challenge the Mullins 2?

It has struck me that most of his winners so far this autumn have only been in the yard for a short time. Some of them look very good but if there is a problem lurking in the yard, will they go the same way as last season's stars?

NJH has been training Festival winners since the Battle of Hastings. This is the reason why many top owners send their horses to him. He has endured a very unpromising start to the season, coupled with the non appearance of 2 high profile chasers which has added to his detractors. You will ignore him come Cheltenham at your peril.

simonsig will not run at this years festival.
Report Rathgorman82 January 8, 2015 1:21 PM GMT
That is some revelation Ashleigh :)
