Currently heads the ante-post market for the Albert Bartlett and is an intended runner in a tricky looking 3 mile novice hurdle in the 1.15 race tomorrow at Cork.

Current prices for tomorrow's race:

Black Hercules 5/4
No More Heroes 9/4
Alpha Des Obeaux 6/1
Pulled Mussel 7/1
Ask Vic 10/1
Annamatopoeia 25/1
Kilnockin Lady 33/1

Big fan of the horse but with it being by Heron Island should mean he needs cut, plus 3miles this early in his career is a negative but then again Faugheen ran over 3 last season.

Tue, 4th Mar, 2014 He is good enough to go for the Champion Bumper and although he is is the same owner as Shaneshill I think both of them will go. His first win at Punchestown has turned out to be a very good run with Cillian's Return looking like a good horse and Black Hercules win at Gowran Park the next day certainly entitles him to go to Cheltenham. After race at Gowran Park Thu, 23rd Jan, 2014 (1st) He's a good horse and I'd imagine he'll be entered for the Cheltenham Bumper. He might take in one more race before Cheltenham but I'd like to keep him on softer ground. He's a big horse and a chaser in the making. W P Mullins

After race at Punchestown Sun, 8th Dec, 2013 (1st) I would have been absolutely gutted if he had been beaten,. jockey Patrick Mullins . I'd say he wasn't that impressive. He got his hind legs knocked taking the bend. He'll want further in time, but I'm very fond of him.  W P Mullins

Was very nimble over his hurdles yesterday, shame we didn't get the clash with No More Heroes

This fella seems quite weak in the Bartlett market. Given his connections and Cheltenham bumper form, I'm a little surprised as this race is surely his only target? Any news that he has had a setback, or isn't sparkling at home?

Just the fact that we haven't seen many AB horses out lately - obviously as 3 miles is a feck of a long way for a prep - as a result the race has just gone off the radar for a bit. Also with a couple of weeks to go, a lot of antepost betting is focussed on the earlier races - that is Day 1 and 2.

^^^ crossed my mind today. Got a feeling there may be a punt on Black Hercules myself, Mullins son was banging on about him a few months ago (Final Furlong podcast)
