Decent start this season. Deputy Dan an odds on loser last week but generally very good.

I ordered a copy from his website last week for £8.99.
I think they're being posted out in the next few weeks, so would guess they'll be in the shops soon, too. |

Already finished Paul Ferguson's Jumpers To Follow 2015-16 and received my copy of Mark Howard's One Jump Ahead 2015-16 today. My ATR tracker currently sits at 128 and I have 26 horses from P2P noted - something tells me I might need an extra tracker after this book!

So far I've found Mark Howard's better than Paul Ferguson's. This is my first year buying these sort of books so thought I would give a few of them a bash. Saw a few people mention "The Final Flight" on Twitter but wanted to see how the 2 I have went first.
Where can you get a hold of that one Duffy? |

I get it every year, he visits a few of the smaller stables as well as the bigger yards just to uncover a few gems that would otherwise sneak under the radar, as I said he visits around 15 stables and he points out that by doing so you can much better guage a trainer's real opinion (particularly about young new horses) by being there and seeing his reactions face to face as it were when discussing individual horses far better than just asking questions over the phone.....the book is £15. |

Much like yourself Paterson, I've only gotten into racing more recently.
Mark Howard's book arrived today, and I should get Jumping Prospects in the next week or so, I think. Some reading for Sunday afternoon, while I'm waiting for the NFL to start, anyway. |

as has already been said on here JUMPINGPROSPECTS,john morris, wins hands down, he visits the yards speaks to the trainers..howard relies on what the trainer puts in his booklet? not sure what paul ferguson does.

I would't bother with "The Final Flight". Nothing from primary sources, poorly written and very little original.
The market is perhaps getting swamped with similar publications. |

Morris' book is good, uncovers loads of winners every year. However, the limitations with all these books are that you obviously can't back them blind. None of these books has a +P/L over the year from all its horses. With Morris' book, beause he visits all the top yards you will find that for all the top novice races almost every horse in the line up has an entry in his book. The key thing is to back the ones at decent prices from small yards. Remember one that had a fantastic write up winning a mares hurdle first race up on a Saturday morning. Backed it at 16/1 before I left for the footy, won at an SP of 25/1. Cant remember its name for the life of me though. His Festival Preview night is a good laugh normally as well in the Melling Road Railway Club.

Agree the ones from the smaller yards are the exciting ones, it just gives you a little head start on horses to keep your eye on....obviously once you see them run you can then make your own mind up going forward....but it's good to have that initial pointer....as the season unfolds you can then build your own personal dossier (if you like) from that initial information.

Bought the Howard book last year and thought it a waste of money. Funnily enough, I don't need to be told repeatedly that Willie Mullins has some interesting prospects.

Yes, he emails once a week on average (can be more) with a selection. My fourth year subscribing, last year he had a poor October but other two years were excellent.
Profits of c£700, £900 and -£200 on to my average £50 stakes after deducting the £60 subs fee. Better than most tipsters who churn out ill thought out selections on a daily basis. |

He gave Unowhatimeanharry when it was a NR at Ffo Llas the week before he hosed in at Chelters - a moral winner almost certainly.
One loser - unraced novice hurdler of Evan Williams at Carlisle, heavily backed 4/1 > 2/1, ran like a drain. Last saturday a 3/1 winner, that handicap hurdler of Skeltons at Aintree (SP 5/2). |
