There will be some roar if Faugheen wins the Champion Hurdle, seems to be the bet the majority of punters have staked so far ante post

Cheers Fools, good that.

I know some sniffy types turn their noses up at Ricci's flamboyance but I thought he came across very well and thoughtful with a real love of both the game and the need to compete good horses against other good horses for the thrill of the sport.

I thought the same when I heard him before Cheltenham this year, clearly loves his horses and I know he was a banker but doesn't seem to tell as many lies as mullins lol

I love to back him for champion but I fink the world hurdle could be his race .. He was my banker last year hope he gets a wee spin on leoparstown on Christmas coz Iam heading down to the meeting would love to see him

Looks like Ricci has been on the phone to paddy. Vautour out to 9/1 Arkle and shortened 5/1 CH - Faugeen out to 5/1 CH and shortened 6/1 WH - Annie Power shortened 1/1 Mares - Pont Alexendra shortened 12/1 RSA. Ante-post betting sucks.

Mullins has so may good horses but going by last year it's looks like faugheen is maybe better than vautour over longer distance and ricci seems to fink vautour is the better horse and the champion is the best race at cheltenham but my views are that faugheen is the better over any distance between the two

Could Briar hill be better than the pair of them ?

Defo could pat Mullins Willys son said that was his banker last year

Yeah interesting that fools. Paddys cut Faugheen to 3s for the CH a good month ago

Paddy Power will be the death of me, this better be a bluff!

All smoke and mirrors dont believe a fickin word that comes from stable, they wouldnt tell you what target what till 48 hrs before race!

So the way Paddy Power's betting suggests ...

1. Ricci won't have a runner in the Arkle, instead leaving the path clear for Un De Sceaux
2. Vautour will go Champion Hurdle even though he looks a chaser all over
3. Faugheen will go World Hurdle, completely ignoring the pace he has, to instead run over 3m and take every hurdle with him on the way

... surely not?

If anything to do with Rubys comments re Vautour think will be heading to Arkle, Faugheen to World Hurdle will also be surprised but who knows ( bet they dont, betting ante-post this early on Mullins horses can only end in tears? )

Ante post betting aside, I will be very disappointed if Faugheen runs anywhere but a Champion Hurdle.

Stevo1 you thinking UDS for the Champion?
By:

When: 09 Oct 14 00:45
Yeah Faugheen to Champion, UDS not so sure appears to be very ground dependent, personally would send him chasing.
By:

When: 09 Oct 14 00:47
You're right and another French campaign could be on the cards but can't see it myself. If he does go chasing there's only one place he will go in my opinion and that's Arkle.

UDS proved he gets further than 2m last year, so could always end up in the Jewson.

I'm not too concerned by the Paddy Power drift on Vautour

Someone should walk in a shop and ask for £2500 e/w @ 9/1 and see how they react, if the manager makes the call and it's accepted with open arms get out of there, if it's restricted and price gets shortened just make a excuse and leave.

Faugheen going for the World Hurdle instead of the Champion would be a crying shame

wouldn't have a word he says personally. The comment that got me 'Vautour is in a different league to Faugheen' during Cheltenham.
By:
Rocky88888
When: 12 Oct 14 11:14
That comment to me would say vautour for champion hurdle ...

Rocky that was said in March before faugheen pissed up at punchestown !
By:

Yea cufcno1 your right .. Wee will just have to see what happens faugheen to me is the better horse over any hurdle distance

FAUGHEEN is the daddy of the 2M hurdlers, this will be demonstrated as soon as he steps into battle with Jezki et al.

^^^im still not so sure jezki is under rated
By:

We get the point already regarding Jezki. Yes, we know he won the Champion Hurdle last year after being "underestimated" and yes, some feel he is "under rated" but yes, we are allowed to express the belief not everyone loves him. Every thread on here is some sort of Jezki fanbase.

That's the biggest load of Shiite I've ever heard, jezki has never had the credit He deserved and it wouldn't be a surprise if he won it again

I backed Jezki last year, but I have to say  the chance of a repeat in my opinion is about zero
