My friend has had a number of wagers on ante-post markets for Cheltenham which have resulted in a fairly significant 4 figure win. The bookmaker in question are questioning the validity of his bets. He has been asked to provide additional passport ID, utility bill. Was looking to understand how others have dealt with these problems, if anyone has had a similar issue that needed to be taken further did they involve IBAS at all or go straight to legal measures?

I bet they wouldnt ask for ID if he had lost, ur friend should ask the bookmaker for HIS id !!!!

the law is they have to be able to prove who their customer is if asked by AML agents |

£10,000 limit before AML kicks in, so presumbly won more than that

why do they never ask for ID when you sign up though if they are that bothered?
they can't pay out incase you are using a stolen identity, but they're happy to let you sign up, gamble and lose money to them with stolen money?  |

Its common to be asked for proof of age when withdrawing for the first time. Scan your passport and attach the pdf to an email and your withdrawal will be immediately processed.
