Hi, anymore know how many llbs equates to lengths?
eg, if there is a 3 llb swing in weights, and a horse was beaten 2 1/2 lengths....
how much closer would the losing horse get on level weights??

It depends on the distance TripleB,
For instance over 5f they use 3lb on the official scale, I personally use alot more. Anyway as this is the cheltenham forum i presume you mean for jumps and generally they use 1lb per length, although I tend to use 1.4lb for 2 miles, 1lb for 2m4f, maybe 0.9/0.8 for 3m and less again over 4m. Also you may want to use less depending on how soft the ground is and how strong the pace is, for instance if they are finishing strung out on soft ground you may want to use less. |

thanks for your information, much appreciated. I was looking at Red Sherlock v Rathvinden, as i thought Rathvinden could turn the form around with the 3 lbs better off from there last meeting... cheers
