racing posts comments surprise me in regards his future...after all this was his 7th lifetime start beating a proper cheltenham horse and after all it was only his second start over fences...what do others think about this write up?? yes didn't look a great race on paper but the class horse was second and surely this horse has a decent future but these comments are very dismissive of his chances next year
A 125-rated hurdler, WESTERN WARHORSEcame into this with BHA chase rating of just 135, having scraped home on his sole previous outing over fences at Doncaster (2m3f) in January, and was understandably dismissed in the betting. Indeed, his trainer admitted he´d been trying to persuade his owner not to run. Described as a "fruit loop" following that chasing debut success, he had a first-time hood on in order to try and relax him and it certainly worked, being happy to take a lead after setting off in front and coming back on the bridle having briefly been ridden three out. Yet another good jump at the last gave him the momentum to run down Champagne Fever, who had looked certain to win approaching the final fence, and there was almost a sense of disbelief, including from his own connections,as he passed the post with his head in front. It´s a hard result to explain and, although clearly a talented horse, it´s almost impossible to see him develop into a genuine contender for next season´s Champion Chase (odds range from 10-1 to 25-1). Even the Ryanair looks a bit of a stretch at this stage.
If you consider that Champagne Fever is a dual festival winner beating the 1-2 in the Champion Hurdle and on another occassion was only 1l behind Jezki then he must be considered rock solid in terms of Chelt festival form. Western Warhorse doesnt fit the obvious Arkle to Champion CHase winner like SImonsig appeared to last year but you are right this is harsh

how was this even 33/1 on all known form he should of been 100/1 I'd be gutted about that price even though I'd backed the winner of an Arkle that had no chance.

You take the winner out the race and Champagne Fever, who jumped like a buck all the way, has beaten Trifolium by 4 lengths.( himself rated 157 and a grade1 winner) Another 2 lengths back to Dodging Bullets, who is 3 from 4 this season. Winning 2 Grade2 events and just touched off by Module on heavy going. All the right horses finished up there and they would be calling Champagne Fever a champion for his stunning 4L victory.

credit where its due ..bookie's clean up , and scuppered 1/2 ante post bets . shotgun paddy jumped so badly to finish second .. ?are horses strong , now with feeding etc ..,at one time put in a bad jump was fatal ,all about change .....he looked a big price in running ...also jezki finished very strongly longest price of bet horses ... bookie wins again . they couldn't pick better results on a bad punting day . not talking through my pocket as put up hollywell at 10/1 ...sp 14/1 on machine for a spell

It's one person's opinion but this is a (not inexpensive) subscription service and they should be more circumspect imv.
Many of us dont get to see as much racing as we would like and in some cases rely on their race reading wisdom when assessing a horses future chances.
I have recently taken a decision to subscribe to RUK and watch as many highlights packages as possible, as who knows how many times I've been put away in the past.

winner could improve massively for his first taste of the top grade, RPR going to be 165+ I would imagine
looks like he will be better over further, was flying up the hill

did win fair and square and only lightly raced...the thing i like about the horse, was it was almost the first time he has been taken out of the speed(normally leads) new tactics bought about big improvement and although clearly quirky he certainly didn't shirk any issues on the run in and didn't flinch at all under maximum pressure, i like that
like him as an individual, where he would go now is unsure, probably up in trip but still has something to offer at 2 miles with these tactics, although long term probably the ryannair... really hope he can back this up, his limited mileage on the clock gives us hope, although he did have a hard race yesterday. he certainly is a likeable horse imo and i really hope he can go on from this, as this was only his second chase start and 7th career...

warhorse won in around 6-7 lengths quicker time than Sire De Grugy carrying 6lbs less, both races run at a strong gallop....
Don't think ground could have any quicker yesterday and presumably the same course, can't see any reason to doubt the form
