Had a couple of looks at the race and with so little comment on what a masterful ride he gave the horse I thought it time to pay tribute. Whilst true the best horse usually wins a great jockey can give you that little bit more which can mean the difference between narrowly winning and narrowly losing.

What I particularly liked was the way after jumping two out and going to the final corner he doesn't ask Jezki for everything. He must have known Ruby was beginning to row away on The Fly and he sits for a few strides so the horse can fill his lungs and only then does he kick. An inexperienced rider may have ridden his finish too soon.

I thought it may well have made the difference in repelling McCoy's late charge.

If my life depended on it I think I'd prefer Geraghty over anyone on my horse.

Such a cool customer in the really big races.

Him and Ruby do seem to ride this course so well.

made the difference was a brilliant ride

compare to McCoy on MTOY - very anxious, switching left, right, should have kicked on round the outside 2 out

Keeps it simple Geraghty - who was it said Scholes played the game as he was in the stands maybe same comments could apply to Geraghty.

what this ride/race shows more than anything is that speculating on the outcome of a championship race on cheltenham spring ground when the 'form' is from irish crawls on soft/heavy going is a real shot in the dark - as for mccoys riding of jezki, well geraghty at punchestown last year beating champagne fever showed how it could/should be done but AP obviously fancied doing it differently again

Shame for tent backers that he missed both the last two hurdles, the 2nd last particularly cost him because if he jumped it well I think he would have gone around the outer, even in defeat though he comes out of it with great credit, pulling like that and to be bang there up th run-in, running right to the line, they're going to have to try some headgear on him just to see how he reacts to it or else his great talent is going to be wasted.

i think if geraghty was on my tent or yours it would have won i think he gave jeski a cracking ride but i wasnt impressed with mccoys ride on my tent or yours

It make me think that ap was told to ride jezki like he did, no other explanation can explain this.

why hold up a horse 10 lengths off the pace in every run.........

Well, they learned that the horse along with tent needs a strong pace to gallop through, they brought in CCB and it nullified any turn of foot that might have come and done him.

One of the best I've seen to be honest. An absolute peach of a ride.

Geraghty is a far better jockey than McCoy. That was the difference in the end.

completely agree re Geraghty's ride yesterday. Perfect. And he's done this on countless other big rides... Bob's Worth, Sprinter etc...

agreed here to.
Compare and contrast to  McCoys 2 rides on Jetzki @ Leopardsatown this season which where shocking.

Geraghty's record round the national fences has always been reference point.

Great ride yesterday.
