I can't see how people can make statements like this given the unfortunate luck both Our Conor and to a lesser extent The New One. Nobody foresaw My Tent or Yours jumping so badly either.

I'm sick of this Annie Power nonsense. She's beaten Zarkandar on heavy going. Wow bloody wee. She'll be put firmly in her place on Thursday when she gets thrashed by proper horses.

Nobody can say. She may have won. Maybe not. I think she would but the most important thing is that she and UDS were denied the chance because Mullins wanted to pave the way for The Fly to go into the record books. He has but as being the beneficiary of pretty weak champion fields in the years he won.
So Mullins got what was coming to him in that sense. |

Zarkandar would have won

The New One would certainly have won if he hadn't been hampered. I suspect AP may have been tapped for toe as the ground turned out.

She would certainly have won the mares hurdle!

The New One got back into a decent position (although probably using up valuable energy to do so) and then dropped back again before running on. I don't believe he would have won, but it would have been close. I'm not at all convinced that Annie Power is as good as the first three in this race. Anyone who suggests that she would have won is guessing.
