Tis the night before Cheltenham so its time for the annual and almost certainly futile plea to Channel 4 to show the races properly
DO NOT show a close-up of a small number of horses for a furlong so the rest of the field is out of shot.
DO NOT show a close-up of the leader as it jumps the final obstacle. It is nice to see how the challenging horses approach,jump and getaway so one can judge properly if they have a chance of making the ground up.
DO NOT try and win awards for artistic merit. This is sport. Information is what counts. Close-ups are a form of censorship.

Totally right. The close ups can be saved for a replay of the race. Who actually wants to see close ups during a race? I'd imagine the once a year viewers have had a bet too and would probably rather watch the full field.
