Thinking of treating my dad to a day at Cheltenham next week, what's the chances of getting tickets outside for Thursday?

do touts overcharge?  I once sold a Gold cup club ticket for twenty quid a few years back (mate couldn't make it)

you'll get 'em at less than face value off the touts because you'll be able to buy 'em at the box office on the Thursday.

Thursday has never sold out. But if you want to buy in the car park, the secret is to stand near the touts, wait for someone to try and sell them a ticket whereby they will be offered a derisory sum, and step in and out bid the tout.
