From Racing Post twitter:
Nicky Henderson says My Tent Or Yours expected to run at Cheltenham but has a "little puncture wound in his near-fore sole" "Nobody can guarantee anything but I am seriously hopeful everything will be all right." "We are looking at it as we speak and are pretty confident it won't affect his participation" |

At Fidher's Cross more like Binocular this year - wouldn't be at all surprised to see that one scoot up in the world. In fact, I'm coming round to the opinion that it will be my biggest bet of the festival.

A relative has an MA in Equine Science, although will say she doesn't work with race horses. Spoke to her about MTOY last night - she said that puncture wounds are highly susceptible to infection for 48 hours from when they occur, but if the foot is cleaned and kept clean it should be fine. Wound itself should heal within that 48 hour period, but the issue will be the degree of the subsequent brusing; horse might not be lame but will be in some discomfort usually for 5 to 7 days when it should then have healed completely.
I asked if he'd be ok to race next Tuesday and she said yes, assuming it has completely healed by then, but they won't know until they try. |
