Last few days I and I'm sure others have dreaded price fluctuations and rumours about horses not going to Cheltenham. It can only get worse!! Touch wood no hiccups yet although it did appear that Vautour was on the way out earlier on.

Now I'm considering avoiding newspapers and the forums for the next 10 days to avoid the anxiety and returning on the Saturday before the meeting starts.

What's everyone's thoughts on this. Will see what the consensus is tomorrow morning and make a final decision.

No abuse please

I couldn't possibly leave the racing forum / racing sites alone. It'd probably be the healthy thing to do, but I'm too much into Festival mode now.

The build up, and the will he, won't he debates are all part of the festival imo.  I've made all my non handicap selections now, but still love listening to preview nights, other's opinions and looking at price fluctuations.

You get to hear about good offers on here as well, that I wouldn't have known about otherwise, so I like to keep up with what promotions are on offer.

This is where it just starts to get exciting!

I'm the same as ACSafford. B/f markets & oddschecker constantly being refreshed to the point of ridiculosity Happy

Agree, it would be healthier to leave it alone, but don't think I could.

agree with Wellchief also. It's all part of the build up and excitement. I love it!

Forty I am sure you are expressing what we are all feeling. I looked on with some nervousness at the price action on Vautour earlier. Realizing though there are those out there ready to shake up the ante-post markets in order to trade out at later and bigger price. £500 can be all that can clear all the offers out on a particular horse.

I'd like to go to sleep and wake up on the 10th!!

I think constantly worrying about what I am missing on the forum and oddschecker etc would be more stressful than keeping up to date with things

Would be like trying to give up smoking which is what I will be doing the day after St Paddy's day

I always enjoy the build up but today was not a nice day at all. A lot of nervous energy being used up.

If you have ante-post positions it's best to check them everyday, several times, imo. Besides, it is all part of the whole shebang. Role with it.

Cheers everyone

Looks like I'm staying and will just have to put up with the ups and downs.

Bally - just a habit from writing letters, e-mails and memos I guess.

Good punting
