One everyday before Cheltenham I've had a cheeky £2 on each of them so far. It's like a Christmas advent calendar.
By:
I did the Vautour/Faugheen one but I've left the last two. It's interesting though. What's 21/1?
By:
are these offers online or in the shops guys??
By:
No wonder they're prices are useless on every race, they can make easy money with these specials instead
By:
you missed the 25/1 starter
sprinter big bucks and bobs worth |
By:
Pedro, they're text specials only I think
By:
Follow PP offers on twitter and they post the link to the specially on their app. I had a dart at the Vautour and Faugheen one

21/1 Champagne Fever and Hurricane Fly double
Like that one... but unfortunately £18 max stake. |
By:
Paddy the only firm still going 4/1 on Champagne Fever and they've already included him in a special. They must really think he'll get stuffed.
By:
Exactly what i thought Tucho! Got to respect them for taking a view... more than most joke outfits do now.
By:
They restrict fairly quickly but they do have the most interesting specials and were the most competitive shop based bookie for quite a while. Obviously they were a gamechanger for all the others.
By:
if they laid a decent bet to anyone with a bit of a clue then 4/1 champagne fever wouldn't last very long

21/1 Champagne Fever and Hurricane Fly double Like that one... but unfortunately £18 max stake You did well CCM - I could have a grand total of £10.64 ![]() |

Can't find offers on website? Where are they or has todays offer finished?
By:
You have to text "Enhanced Cheltenham Special" + stake to 51465
By:
Was on the site earlier, but I reckon they've been filled in on this one...
By:
It's not that good. It's about the price the double would pay going on Betfair prices.
By:
Just think it would tempt a lot of people to chuck a fiver at it. who may not have bothered to look at it otherwise... I know I've had mates asking me to put the bet on for them

By:
Yeah, you're probably right. Mullins hotpots on day one probably does look good to most punters.
By:
I placed the same bet last week anyway. The fact they have out it out as a special is obviously a negative, but sticking with it,
By:
Which race will they refund all losing bets if the banker wins on day 1? I think some of the previous ones have been the following
Cousin Vinny Dunguib Cue Card Hurricane Fly Will they stick with the FLY or maybe Vatour? |
By:
I reckon CF.
By:
Yeah maybe ,what do you think is their primary motivation is for picking the race? They normally shorten the prices on the other contenders and make it as difficult as possible to lock in free money.
a)Highest profile race to increase exposure b)A weak favourite: Obviously don't have to refund but doesn't the promotion tend to divert punters to other selections |
By:
Think it was Hurricane Fly was 2 years ago. Wasn't it My Tent or Yours last year? The first year they did it was Sprinter Sacre wasn't it?
Don't think they did Cousin Vinny or Dunguib, but pretty sure they were the inspiration behind the idea. Could be wrong though. Reckon it |

Cousin Vinny was definitely the first one Marychain and ran like a drain,it could well have been MTOY last year
By:
@dj876 its a great idea - even just as a face value offer they can't lose. They do it first up (definitely first day, but ideally race 1 or 2) and they either get their festival off to a brilliant start and/or they get loads of new accounts and even if they pay out loads they get most of it back over the week AND those people then don't bet with their rivals.
By:
Yes I understand all that Marychain but what am I asking is what do you think is their primary motivation for picking a particular selection? Do you think they generally pick a selection that they're generally against anyway and then they don't have to refund but does this not then diver their punters to other selections in the race?
By:
Divert
By:
Motivation for picking a selection is something evens as possible + early in the festival as possible. They do so well from new accounts and publicity I don't even think they care whether it wins or loses. They certainly don't care about the position they took before the offer because it dwarves any pre-offer position they may or may not have had.
It will always be something in the Supreme, Arkle or Champion Hurdle, and the fact that it will probably go off shortest of the three races AND be in the first race makes Vautour the perfect pick this year imo. |
By:
It was HF last year and made winning money on the race easy. Only 3 horses could really win (HF, ROR and Zark) so you smashed HF and then covered ROR and Zark with PP. They were both about 5/1 the week before which gave you a free £250 bet on HF in the knowledge you broke even at worst. The max refund from PP is £100.
In 2011 it was cue card and 2012 it was sprinter Sacre |

By:
20/1 The New One and Kings Palace
19/1 Ballycasey and any Mullins Bumper Horse taken these two |
By:
Is the latter good value?
Ballycasey 5/1 with Ladbrokes, which means you have got Mullins to win the bumper at 9/4. Skinny? |
By:
You're right, it's hardly an amazing price. But its only £5 that gives me a bit of interest in two races I haven't had mch of an antepost view in. Wouldn't be putting any serious wedge on these, they're novelty bets really, and to be honest I'm a little surprised I was allowed that much. This is the firm that restriced me to 66p each way on a cycling bet.
By:
Can people actually get a bet on with Paddy Power??
By:
Yes, but not anything worth putting on. Really random stake limits like £7.64 on a 2/1 double. Always check with a couple of other guys in my office who bet peanuts and don't even win and have PP accounts, and they can normally get 5-6 x as much as me on, but still pointless.
