Valdez is the one I reckon he will pick. Does anyone think Trifolium will end up in JLT instead of Arkle? Relished the test in heavy ground yesterday but had been well beaten on better ground over 2m earlier in the season. Similar profile to Beneficient who also went JLT route and feel Trifolium has better chance over the longer distance.

After Trifolium got beat by Defy Logic last time I thought he would be suited by the step up to the JLT trip, he looked like he couldn't go the early pace of Champagne Fever and Defy Logic and they won't be going that quick in the JLT... Would never have won yesterday if CF was in the race. Anyway Balder Succes will be the Pricewise horse, Alank King rates this as much as Valdez and is 100% going for the Arkle. Thank me Later :)

Ruby wouldn't of taken on Defy Logic for the lead (made that mistake last time) and would of sat in 2nd throughout, Trifolium would of then sat in 3rd.. In all honesty could you have seen Trifolium go past CF like he did DL yesterday? Not on your Nellie would he, CF has the speed to quicken and the stamina for a slog.

Might not have been the best Supreme Tory but he was a close up 3rd. Don't believe there are any poor Supreme's. Some are just better than others.
His previous Cheltenham form shows that he handles the travelling, stabling away from home, the razzamataz of the parade ring and acts on the course which are pretty important plusses.

unless ronnie rails is telling us definitively that he has picked trifolium (are you rr?) then i think TS may throw a total curve ball and go for grandouet

Well no,but then DL broke a blood vessel!! I don't know what would have happened had CF been in the race, but I do know Trifolium was bl00dy impressive. And talk of Trifolium going in the JLT after that is laughable imo.

DL burst yesterday, he may as well fell at the first fence when that happens...and yet it's not seemingly being equated into the credit that Trifolium is receiving

this pricewise on a tuesday is great, gives all the bookmakers the chance to cut the price of lots of different horses, thus taking more from the market
excellent, the punters/bookmakers pal?

ChildOfMine2 27 Jan 14 20:21 Remember, Trifolium did the exact same at Punchestown last season before running a stinker in the Supreme Novices. He's no chance in the Arkle.
He was 3rd beat like a length?

I personally think Trifolium is plenty short enough, on the back of one run in heavy ground.
If you look at the Irish Arkle as a trial, it is always on heavy ground, and the winner has either ran in a different race, not ran in the Arkle or didn't win the Arkle; so in effect, it is a heavy ground poor trial. Look at the recent winners:
2008: Thyne Again - Soft ground, 4th in the Arkle beaten 15 lengths by Tidal Bay 2009: Golden Silver - Heavy ground, only beat 3 home in the Arkle 2010: An Cathaoir Mor - Heavy ground, didn't run at Cheltenham 2011: Realt Dubh - Soft ground, 3rd in the Arkle beaten 9 lengths by Finians 2012: Flemenstar - Heavy ground, didn't run at Cheltenham 2013: Beneficient - Heavy ground, won Jewson.
The exception is obviously Flemenstar, who probably would have won a non Sprinter Arkle, but again, he doesn't appear to like the "normal" festival ground.
Now I know you have to take each race in isolation, but history doesn't back up Trifolium very well. Obviously, it'd be stupid to say winning the race is some kind of negative against Trifolium, but I wouldn't use that race as the be all and end all. Now I was a Felix backer beforehand, and as above, I would definitely have liked him to win, but you'd be better to judge his form on his earlier runs, with better ground.

not a mention of this horse, I reckon it will be ROR, he,s the best rated hurdler goin into the race, and the trainer is not bottoming him out on heavy ground, if he runs and completes within 8lb of his hurdle rating he wins, he just lacks experience atm

I don't get the ROR thing tbh, if you mention on here that CF should run in the arkle as opposed to FY, you'd get knocked over by people telling you that on "form" this year FY should run etc....you can also get a fair share of hurdles is one thing and fences quite another.
Well on the back of one exercise trot around plumpton which was a chasing career brought about because TNO frightened them half to death and forced them to entertain their after-thought of chasing this year and with precisely zero further experience, this thing is now single figures.

Easily the best of his ante-post tips so far in that he just about sets the standard. The problem is he sets the standard in a relatively poor, but open year. Great if you have got 25/1 but 8/1?

Despite being a very open looking contest this year, there is rarely a large field for the Arkle. I won't be backing him but have had worse 8/1 AP pokes!
